When did you start playing otome games?

My first otome I played was probably some mobile game like from Voltage or under the brand of Shall We Date? at like 8 years old. Ah, those were the days. I remember the cruel moments of not being able to pick the premium options and never having the privilege to get the next story for my favorite characters in Love 365. Brutal times.
 
I was 10 playing the mobile otome games! I love Love 365 and I played a bit of shall we date but I preferred love 365. I wasn't allowed to spend money on games back then and I really wanted to play the doctor route from the love thief game. (I revisited it recently and finally played the route)
 
Naaah, I think my first otome was Haokuoki or Tokimeki, I don't really remember my age tho. But been ages since, literally.
 
I actually tried playing otome games back in middle school, but honestly, I found them so hard 😂 I'd just pick random options during the common route and end up failing to get anyone's affection, so I always hit a bad ending. I didn't realize until later that that's not how you're supposed to play them! I only started playing them properly in high school
 
I knew about Otome because of Amnesia. I watched the anime first tho but around 2018 I played the game and didn't finish then I picked it up again around 2022 and finished the game. My first love was Ukyo and until now its still Ukyo :))
 
I don't remember well but I think I was around 15-18, my first VN was DMMd. I had tried for a while before to successfully install Lamento but it didn't work well with my computer. I kinda miss those times, when I'd spend hours trying to install and patch something XD good old days.

I originally started off with Mystic Messager back in 2018 and Jumin Han's route completely rewired my brain. No wonder I seek him in every LI I come across lol
 
I don't remember very well:unsure: but I think I started to play otome games 14 years ago after I played Avalon Code on NDS.
Approximate timeline : My Candy Love > otome games on smartphone > Hakuouki on PS3 > otome games on PS Vita > etc...
 
I think I was 12ish when I started. I watched the Brothers Conflict anime and heard that Natsume wasn't the end LI. Because of that, I was super desperate to see as much Brothers Conflict releases and figure out why. Eventually, I found out there was an otome game and learned japanese to play it. And after that I saw that Diabolik lovers which also released around the same season had an game and started playing that too.

This got me nostalgic about installing games before. I remember I would try to find installation guides online or even google translate stuff just to figure out why things weren't working. It was a struggle in the beginning to figure out why my japanese pc games were in an unreadable language because I didn't change my system language.

It was so long ago that I can't even remember exactly:)
I got my first proper computer when I was 13 or 14, so I guess it must have been around then. But I only got serious about playing otome games a few years later, when I bought a PSP.
 
I think I started playing around the age of 14. Back then, I didn't have my own computer yet, so I mostly played mobile games.
 
I don't really remember but I think I started when I was 14 or 15. I mostly played mobile games before I moved to games on pc
 
In elementary when I was like 7 or 8. My older sister used to let me watch and I would give it a go. Helped with my reading back then too.
 
I think I was 12. I loved Utapri and Brothers Conflict and was always trying to find media with WLW in it, so I would always end up stumbling upon otome games with at least one token female love interest lol, dark times.
 
I don't remember exactly, but it's been over 10 years. I still can't remember my first otome game, pretty sure it was a Flash game online.
 
I started playing them in my teen years. Back then, I mostly played mobile otome games. I don't think I quite understood what they were all about. It took me a few years to really get into the genre. I think Amnesia might have been my first one - I bought it on steam :D
 
I was about 10 when I found Voltage and NTT Solmare games. My first two were Ninja Love and A Knight's Devotion.
 
I was 16 years old, and since otome games were very unknown back then, I had to find a patch online for my language. The first game I played was Sh[in]e. My character was asleep, and the first interaction I had was waking up to find some unknown guy asleep next to me. I'll never forget it. XD
 
probably like high school? my first otome game was amnesia after that i hadn't played any for a long time. Eventually i bought the switch and started playing cupid parasite and it has been going down ever since then lol
