sadly no. it's quite hard to look for physical copy and when i find one, it's very very expensive and they don't discount it that much at all even if it has been some time since it's released. ppl around me mostly like fps or mmorpg game. quite hard to find someone who like a game because of its story, let alone otome games :(

Unfortunately, no… Visual novels in general are already pretty niche here, and otome games are even more so. Whenever I try to buy a physical copy, it ends up being ridiculously expensive

Wow, I love seeing old threads revived like this! xD But as for where I am, not really no. My closest friend knows I play otome and so does my spouse, but before me they had never heard of it and don't really understand it farther than "interactive romance novels". I don't think I've ever met an otome fan irl, even at anime cons! Finding online spaces like this one and my OG englishotomegames.com are so important to me, as sometimes I feel like the only person in the world who plays!

Unfortunately no people don't even know how it works except those isekai otome and how all otome Mcs are greedy and boy crazy

Not really, most people prefer straight to action, visual focus, in short, "efficient" fast food like consumption for romance works. There seems to be some romance literature readers but I'm not into English production somehow, the way they talk, the characters available, the worldviews, and even just the book covers, don't click.

다른 게임 인구에 비해 규모가 정말 작아요. 그래서 참 안타깝습니다.

Although some otome games are very popular, they are still relatively niche, and it's rare that people around me play them.:alice_fall:

Nope... or more to say, i dont know... maybe there are, but the community is not that strong as online?

I don't think there's a lot of them. I haven't ever met another person who enjoys otome games (or even knows what they are lol) aside from online. Though, there must be some out there near me, because I've found second-hand otome games, like for the Switch, at my local game store. Not tons, but some.

The mobile games are more known because they are free, but the fandom is not big and you will bump into the same people anyway

They are quite popular in my country, most people playing mobile Otome, but there are also many Otome enthusiastics playing switch or PC otomes :)

In Brazil, not very much, because the language and prices aren't accessible/attractive to the population, so media like anime and manga are more well-known.

In my country, otome games are not popular; anime and manga are much more popular. :(

yes it is! a lot of my irl friends are quite familiar with otome games. well, most of my friends are familiar with japanese medias, after all. so i think that's the main reason why they're not foreign with the concept of otome game and/or visual novels!

I don't think otome games are really popular in my country. In fact, visual novel games aren't popular here at all. You rarely see them for sale in physical stores.

I think it's mostly because of the language barrier, since most of these games come from Japan, and not all of them are translated into other languages. None of my friends play them, and they've even told me they have absolutely no interest in them......WHHHHYYY😭😭

Nope. I live in a small country therefore hard to come across someone who does. Beside, some of the otome games switch store is not available in my region. I was shock to find out Virche Evermore was not available to be purchase here.

I don't know much, but people around me are into novels more than visual novels or otome games.

Unfortunately, not really. I think it's because otome games aren't very accessible, and the language barrier is also a factor.

I am pretty sure if I made the effort to find them I could find a lot of Otome players in my area. There was a Love and Deepspace event last year which had a long line, that was the only time I ever saw Otome players out in the wild near my area hahaha.
