Oh my, this question is a bit tricky! Because I play everything, and although I really want to choose Otome games, to be honest, the stories in Bishoujo games are more memorable to me... hmm, okay, I'll choose BL games, hahaha:LOL:

I might just be very lacking on the BL games I've played, but the ones I hear of a lot of have played were just straight up porn! Nothing bad with that, I do like some smut here and there. But I feel like a lot of BLs I've seen or played were just nothing but porn lol. It feels like the romance is second to best, but that's just me and my personal taste and opinion.

BL :') They've been niche, but the quality and stories hits. They often feel more unique, however this could be due to not having a lot to compare to (compared to the variety of otome games) and r18 tend to also cover darker subjects. I can often just sit back and appreciate watching people fall in love without being too judge-y (maybe that's why I personally prefer fantasy settings lol) and relatively less heteronormative aspects for the most part 🌈

I started with otome and ended up to BL coz i'm biased to seiyuu lmao _(='3
Like sometimes i purposely buy games that doesnt have great gameplay(Caligula) but tolerating it coz my favs are in there hshs

but on a serious note, I would choose Otomes. I grew up with the games of this genre and I can't imagine myself not playing anymore.

seriously, I love playing both but if I had to choose, I'd pick BL. It doesn't shy on angst and gore like Togainu no Chi, No, ThankYou!, Hadaka Shitsuji, etc. I love dark theme things and in otome, it's more dramatic angst than survival plus love angst. But Ozmafia's duke and that bird guy(forgot his name) that was great. I love that we could turn the tables at the last minute like that. I was pleasantly surprised and loving it so much even now.

wowowow this is very tricky for me, but if I really had to choose one it'd be bl since i've been into it longer but otome does comes very close.

I mostly play otome games and occasionally play BL games. It mainly depends on whether the game is fun or not.

I'll definitely go for otome. I love this genre, and it speaks to me more than BL, although there are some great examples of those, too.

For me Otome I love a good BL game but sometimes the story line or plot of the game is to assertive or toxic for me so I enjoy a calming relaxing wholesome Otome game.

I prefer read BL manga/novels and play Otome games =)) Also, I dont understand why there is so much sexual content in BL games, it makes me feel tired of it.

I rarely play BL games (I play them if there is interesting setting). But I prefer to stay with otome games, even if there is no strong heroine and staff, just for good love story between man and woman I be forever loyal ٩( 'ω' )و
