Do you prefer otome game with gameplay element or just text reading element only?

I dont like that it has too much elements, everyday will become as daily missions stuff to complete lol
I like to see my favorite characters, know their story, interact with them and that's it

I don't really enjoy stat raising games, I feel like it takes away from the enjoyment of the game. I much rather have a story-focused game on the player's choices. However, I find myself enjoying mini-games a little more -- like the rhythm games in Jack Jeanne were actually super relaxing

I prefer text reading element , i like to lie down on bed or sofa and read
I wouldn't mind gameplay elements but would love if they were pretty easy and quick to finish

I prefer just reading text because I think of playing otome games as reading a story, but I also don't mind if the gameplay elements are done in a way that's engaging and fun. As long as they aren't too repetitive and doesn't require too much effort/time or it only allows a small margin of error. If possible, I think having some sort of option to skip or pretend as if you won would be good for getting through all LIs and endings.

I'm a avid reader and being a student in literature also is a part of why I enjoy otome/VNs. Minor gameplay parts don't bother me. But I do prefer a full reading only experience.

I felt like the older otomes did have more of a gameplay thing, more on raising certain stats to impress certain characters or being able to progress on a storyline. I don't mind it at all, I feel like it would be welcoming! I hardly see those on your everyday switch otome games, so seeing some indie western devs adding even a point and click adventure on their otomes makes me a bit happy.

Honestly it depends on the gameplay, for one example I really enjoyed playing jack and jeanne's rhythm game but some gameplay elements i don't like is where it takes up most of the otome like with tokimeki the scheduling and stat raising is so boring to me and the romance aspect is like 30% of the actual game while the stat rasing is the main focus.

I like when the VN has some minigame or something along those lines, I find it immersive and fun. Tokimeki, for example, has the status raising mechanic, which I find a bit tedious sometimes. So it really depends on which gameplay dynamic is used

i definitely much prefer otomes with gameplay, even though they are just little ones. like the investigation and shooting part in cxm, or the map system in psychedelica AH. so, when i played jack jeanne, it really took me back!! i wish that newer otomes also implement gameplay mechanics in the future :)

This is exactly how I feel, too! The rhythm game in Jack Jeanne was fun and different, but Tokimeki was largely stat raising which I didn't care for- though I will say that I didn't mind some of the minigames for it, like making the chocolate and stuff. But yeah, I largely like the reading element most.

i prefer text only so i don't have to configure my text extracting tools and adjust it to the whatever happening on the screen

I actually loved Tokimeki/Love Revo's stat raising. I felt like I could just idly play while doing other things. That being said I am not a fan of puzzles/minigames...

depends if the gameplay is not troublesome though. TMGS series is great. Black Butterfly's type of clicking is good too. Cafe management is great. The puzzle ones like Avalon Code...are a hit and miss but mostly a hit. I don't like battling to get a skill from Gustav...ugh...But the smacking book to copy paste an edit the properties to save friends and weaken foes. That was so good, babes! You gotta play! So much fun. I wish they make more games like that but make it so that the romance is the main objective or something then it'll be great. If the Alchemist series got romance as well, that would be fantastic. Even Fire Emblem doesn't let you have babies these days...very saddening. I want a son to raise.

I don't really like it when there's gameplay in otome games; I prefer text only—but if there are elements like in Ace Attorney, that sounds fun too
