I like role reversal (A trope where gender roles of a couple are reversed) stories sometimes but I've never seen it in Otome games. I would like to see the MC save the love interest from danger multiple times, say romantic dialogues, get possessive (not in an unhealthy way), propose to get married first and more. What are your thoughts on this trope and what type of role reversal scenes would you like to see in Otome games?

I'd also like to see more MCs with more attitude in otome games. One thing I've always wanted to see in otome games for a long time is a Kabedon scene lol I don't know why but I've always wanted to see the MC being the one who pins Li against the wall and makes him nervous, extra points if it's a tsundere character!

your post kinda reminded me of 'i love you', the mc pinning a guy against a wall is right there lol it's mostly just a fun short game but it might have what you're looking for!

I just took a look and it looks so fun! But unfortunately it's for PC and I don't have a decent PC :( If one day it becomes possible to emulate it on my phone or play it on Switch I'll definitely play it! Thanks for the recommendation, by the way!

i use eden, idk which emulator works better...? it's kinda laggy (i don't think my laptop is good enough lol) but i've been slowly making my way through virche anyway bc i just love the artstyle/setting a lot. so thankfully it's not totally impossible!

I know the otome genre is meant to cater to girls/young women, which is why the MC's and LI's tend to look a certain way, but I've always wanted to have a shy, long-haired LI paired with a bold and short-haired MC. Bonus points if he is meek and studious, while she goes out and handles all the tough stuff...or is just a domineering tomboy. I've seen a few game advertisements that spoke of the MC previously being a tomboy, but idk any where she's currently, as the game is progressing, more masculine-presenting/rowdy/brash.
I feel like something like that could explore the sexuality of a woman very well! I grew up having a massive "one of the boys" phase and was forced to grow out of it, but back then, my IRL crushes ending up being on guys that were more gentle and timid compared to now. It'd be fun to have an MC with those preferences too, at the very least.

i would love to see it and just more MCs with different personalities (such as bold, dominant, aggressive, opinionated, or stubborn, among other things) because i feel like they tend to lean a certain way most of the time or be "blank slate" characters.

im all for innovation!!:D:D even though im mostly for traditional "girly"/passive girls (dont jump me for this onegai), the thought of having a proactive mc who is aggressive in her pursuit of male love interests sounds very fun! though i guess you can mostly see it in comedic titles..;w;

I love role reversals! Hiyoko from HatoKare and Saki from Sweet Fuse are among my favorite MCs, and they both take charge during the game.
Pretty sure there's a CG of that in one route in VariBari! I believe it's a scene in Nayuta's route. The route has some scenes of the MC taking charge and pursuing the LI near the end

Oh, that's right, I didn't even remember that! It's been a while since I played VariBari, and Nayuta was the first route I did. I think it was from that scene that I became hungry to see more Kabedon; the MC was so cool XD
