I'd like to upload games in the future to the Otome section, but this specific sub-forum allows viewing access to particular members only. I'm not wanting to mess with those rules, but I also don't want to keep my uploads locked behind special access. It seems counter-productive to sharing them. Even I myself don't have that access, so it seems very strange overall. Maybe this can be an opt-in choice, so that uploaders who DO want their uploads kept within special access can still do that.

tl;dr just want my uploads to be available to everyone, completely public. Not trying to change the rules, I just want more options. Thanks for reading

Unfortunately this likely wont change as there are strict reasons to why the section is as it is, plenty of people would take advantage of the change and use it detrimentally.

Those people are free to upload their files once they have earned access like anyone else - waiting a difference of 3-14 days isn't going to hurt anyone

Upload their own files? But aren't most people here to download games? What would they be uploading? And I thought the waiting period was one month.

Again, I'm not asking to change the rules, I want an exception to the rules that uploaders can opt into. This wouldn't affect anyone who wants their games kept within the special access thing. I'm also not sure what you mean by taking advantage or using detrimentally. Can't really think of anything anyone would do with a gameshare other than play it?

Surely people can have control over their own links, when the rest of the forum already does? It seems discriminatory that only one sub-forum has special rules.

You are asking us to change the rules which apply to everyone fairly to affect up-loaders differently. They are allowed to gain access as everyone else has had to. We have had to set these rules due to various abuses, It does not take long to qualify for the full membership for otome section.

Accounts very quickly being reported for dmcas, direct download links being shared outside of the forum to large groups (eg, for instance I uplaoded a file and somehow, that ONE file link had over 1,00 downloads despite only having 1 likes to reveal it).

Some of our uploaders live in nations where it is incredibly legally dangerous for them to upload, so things will not change.

Actually never mind, I feel kinda stonewalled here, and my questions aren't being answered (the waiting period, why only this subforum is affected, etc). I'm sorry but I'm new and still trying to figure things out, but you deleted my other thread before too. This thread can be closed. I tried ):

An actual mod told me to come here btw, so I don't appreciate you (who doesn't even seem to be a mod, but a mod in training?) ignoring what I said multiple times just so you can say 'no actually you ARE trying to change the rules, therefore shut up.' So much for not being shot down. I'll keep uploading games but it's really starting to feel like new members can't rely on anything.

I deleted your other thread because you were having technical issues and tried to DM you, and commented on your profile. I tried multiple methods of trying to get in contact with you, when that didnt work due to issues I moved your other thread to site-support, so people could answer.

THe subforum is part of the otome section as a whole, so all otome-section rules apply to it.

I don't know why you always try to interfere in other people's threads under the guise of using rules, but you just want to impose your own system. While other sections have freedom, only the otome section is subjected to strange rules and I don't understand your argument about supporting developers. In the end, you're posting on a pirated site. Don't try to do charity work; developers still hate this.🙂

there have been multiple discussions explaining why the changes had to be made, so unless you are one of those people who leak other people's own purchased games without so much as a "thank you", theres very little reason to be so angry..;;

Look, in the end it's just a rule to protect the community and it really doesn't take long to gain access to the links. If you participate in the otome games forum and interact with others, you'll gain access soon :)

It seems I've been temporarily blocked from accessing the site... I don't know why،

However, there is no law prohibiting this, so I will continue to respond.❤️

I understand that feeling. I also had some materials I wanted to share before I had full access to the sub-forum. What I did was look for Request post (which seem to be accessible to more members) and replied to it using the Hide function (where the file link is revealed after a reaction).

Also, while it can be a bit "annoying" at first, I found that just by interacting and chatting with others in the Otome section, I gained the permissions faster than I expected. The rules are definitely strict, probably to avoid constant issues, but if people approach the community with a genuine love for the genre, they likely have that upload access before they know it. I hope this helps clarify things a bit!

Yes, especially since I'm not the type of person who's good at talking to or interacting with others. I just want to clarify my response: everyone who bought the game has the freedom to share it whenever they want, since they're the ones who bought it after all. But forcing others to follow their plans, preventing them from sharing it before they do, or claiming that a game is finished just because they bought it and it hasn't been uploaded to the site is wrong. It's similar to reserving a manga and preventing others from translating it just because they were the first to get their hands on it. Also, I apologize if there are any mistakes in my writing; my native language isn't English, and I'm using a translator.......
Thank you for your kindness. 🫶🩷

Hello, the primary reason most individuals who lack access and are voicing complaints about our new requirements are those we have previously banned.

The system is working better than I anticipated.

The admin is aware of every banned individual (who registered a new account) behind the complaints, which has further solidified the new system.

There will be no such thing on ASF, please report any moderator misconduct if you see one.

You are forgetting that newer members are constantly subjected to sexual harassment to take photos of themselves just to please some of the older members who are from English speaking countries. A member here forced to me to talk about my own hobbies/interests when I first joined and even took those photos when I said no several times and even came back through multis when I was 15 years old.

When you do a simple google search towards our countries you can find out why we use vpns, there are some who takes advantage in this way too. Just because those file sharing sites shows blank it's our fault and we have to strip to members etc etc.

The only global mod who took care of this is gone named velka and other moderators in other sections who console us.

I'm confused about how this relates to the situation. If you have experienced sexual harassment, you should report it to the administration. We take these reports very seriously.

Furthermore, the new requirement help protect against issues like this. In fact, your claims are exactly why we wanted to implement more restrictions to safeguard the community.

We also do not block your use of VPNs, as long as it is not being used to bypass a ban for violating rules, including those related to sexual harassment.

Or do you perhaps think that if we remove all restrictions, the community would be safer?

1st half, I will use direct staff contact, if you are willing to talk and not involve any global mod in there since this involves me.

2nd half, I'm confused so I will talk in there to clarify what that is since, it doesn't look solved to me.

3rd half, okay that clarifies the problem for vpns, but please do write this shit on the otome section rules because this abuse has been happening on the forums for years towards new members/old or whatever country we are from.

4th half, I am kinda sure the op here said they want an option to opt in or out for their threads for visible and non visible, I mostly voted for it because we could have full authority over the thread as members and there would be less complaints like this like the member you banned earlier. Just to be clear it is an "option" everyone else would still be subjected to those restrictions you placed. Simple answer "Give us options" to be treated like other sections where there is love and kindness and humanity.

My other complaint here is towards you forum admin, there are men in the otome section as much as women, is there a restriction for men/women interacting in that section? Or being mods? Or country restrictions (in other sections as well for this one)? Because men who like otome/bl content are treated like they are attention seeking that they are posting elsewhere now in this forum. Not to mention they love trap/bara content and see it as somewhat bl. There is no bl banner here either. What is your opinion on this then?

Also I edited my statement above: to say pics being told to take from members who are from non English speaking countries by English speaking countries, cuz we are not equal to them apparently and we can't speak English well. I'm not using a translator btw. I can talk in that language but not as perfect.

1. Yes, use direct contact to an admin if you wish to bypass the staff member causing these abuses, we have a zero tolerance abuse policy. That includes from other members or from staff.

2. What is the second point about, could you clarify?

3. VPNS are allowed but some have been put on filters due to spam bots and scraping bot activity, Check may have more information. Account bans will affect not just your account but perhaps any additional accounts you make. We do not ban without legitimate reason - the most of which being abusive behaviour or breaking forum rules or advertisement.

4. No. That wont be happening. We do not discriminate based on language, we only ask that all communication on the main forum are at least posted in ENGLISH AND NATIVE LANGUAGE so that mods can follow. Posts only showing one language may be deleted but you would not get a penalty on your account for this. I have even created Chinese only language threads and Japanese only language threads in the otome section to include more people and bring in engagement. You are free to use DEEPL, translate your post and then post the original language above the translated post.

Hello,

Since this topic deviates too much from the original suggestion. What I'd suggest to do - the OP can just post their otome game in Miscellaneous Section

This way, all members of the public will see the post without registration.

Thank you for solving the problem, and am sorry for going against you rn.

Anyway since this thread is spiraling out of control, even the OP is trying to edit their post to spin their own story, this thread is now locked.

I've had enough.

For the record, OP is a clone account of luxrays who were banned for misconduct in the past, and will receive the same treatment again. The people who complain about our new restriction system are the same people who were banned before. The new restriction are working as intended.

This also explained why OP couldn't send any DM, the system recognized the previous infraction, and blocked OP from doing so. Playing dumb will not help.
