I pick whoever looks appealing first, experience surprises. Sometimes the route you expect a lot from ends up disappointing tbh lol. Choose the fun option for you

I usually play the story in the recommended order. That way, I can fully understand the game's universe and backstory.

If there is a recommended play order, I'll follow it! I wouldn't want to get an early spook from a reveal that was supposed to happen (and probably have more impact) wayyy later.

I never, ever play without following the route order. It's for the sake of the story as a whole, and I value the whole of an experience with a game over which boy I like the most (yes, even if it's painful and boring for me to do the other routes because I have no interest in them...). I've had experiences of doing routes out of order completely messing up the story of the game, and I'd rather avoid that than have my brand new husband right now, ykwim?

Previously, I would prefer to play through the routes of the characters I was most interested in on my first playthrough. Now, because I prefer to collect everything, I know I'll eventually reach the route of the character I'm most interested in, so I play through it in the recommended order.
 
I usually go for the character I like the most. It's more interesting this way for me
 
I'll go for the one I like best, even though I really do enjoy a well-developed story
 
I usually go with the recommended order but if it's said that recommended play order is much important i play whoever looks good to me first
 
I prefer to play games in the recommended order, so I always check the guide before playing any game.
 
After clearing the game for first time by following the order, i am just replaying the character's route. Sometimes order helps me to not drop game because my favourite Li is not the first usually
 
I usually follow walkthroughs during the common route and stick to the recommended route order. After that, I tend to play blind. I really love how the story unfolds, so I prioritize that. Sometimes, after finishing all the routes, I replay the common route and try to see which route I'd end up in based on the choices I actually wanted to make if I had gone in blind.
 
I always go in blind, at least for the first play-through, without reading any guides and as a result not knowing the recommended route orders. I attempt to get on the path for the LI that grabs my attention the most, but I don't always end up on that route because I make bad decisions.
 
I prefer going recommended order. In most cases this way all story secrets revealed gradually.
 
I follow the recommended order because I'm mostly playing for the story, and also to avoid spoilers.
 
So strictly speaking, neither I guess? I usually don't follow the recommended order, but I also don't gun for my favorite. I try to start with something that could be fun, later get through routes that don't interest me and leave the most intriguing for last. I like seeing how my initial impressions and guesses hold (or don't) up, I think it's part of the fun. However, I do take a glance at the recommended order anyway. It's so I don't end up getting heavily invested in a route that has some locked endings, for example.
 
50-50, most of the time I'd follow the recommended order since I love seeing the plot unravels gradually, though I do tend to save my fav for last..
 
I try to play all routes, and usually follow guides etc., so I don't feel the need to rush one particular route. I'll get there... eventually.
 
My philosophy is that if the game requires a certain order to enjoy the story, they should lock routes. I try to follow a particular process alternating between characters/routes I think I'll like and ones I'm not interested in, before playing my ultimate favorite last so the story leaves off on a good note! I think this provides the best balance, and I know my tastes well enough that I'm usually a good judge of whether a character is for me or not.
 
depends, though I usually go for a recommended order whenever possible, but if there's a character whose route I REALLY want to do, I'll ignore the order for just that character
 
I use guides/walkthroughs but I start it with those who I find interesting first! But if the character I like is locked behind clearing certain routes, I will do everything asap so I can get to play their route AHHAHAHHA
 
At first, I'll just enjoy discovering what's ahead, so I'll play the game however I feel like.
But when I think about spoilers, maybe I should follow the recommended playthrough order. Still, I'd hate for it to feel like a chore.
 
I tend to play the recommend order; unless I see a charcter that I really want to play. Then I'd play that one first.
