Are there any backgrounds or settings in otome games that you particularly like?

hmm….cant say i really have a preference regardless of genre, as long as im entertained it's all gucci haha

we need more horror otome. for all it's faults, distoco nailed the atmosphere it was aiming for. maybe otomate will finally commit with sullyland (i have no one to blame but myself but yeah im still salty af about 9rip lol.)

i second the horror theme! also maybe some chatsims from big otome productions would be fun to see like how they could execute such concept

I third horror theme otome games!! I'm a big baby when it comes to horror movies, but so far I've enjoyed all the horror themed otome games I've played (Distorted code, 9RIP, 7 scarlet, Amnesia).
Preferably psychological horror would be even better, since I particularly love the execution of 7scarlet and Amnesia, but honestly any horror is fine considering it's so rare.

I also seem to like sci-fi otome games too? As I've enjoyed the ones I've played too - Clock Zero, Unlogical, Natsuzora no Monologue.

I also want to see more horror otome games and games where you can play as a detective

def loved fantasy and historical settings <3
I just cannot focus if I played modern settings games, it stresses me out :')

I love heavy fantasy settings. I would love more heavy sci-fi altered reality settings though

I like a really creative setting regardless of things like time period and level of fantasy. Virche Evermore (everyone dies by 23+heavy tech level division by societal class), Illusion of Itehari (steampunk Japanese sky island), and Cafe Enchante (cafe with a gateway to other worlds) are standouts in my mind.

I like horror, fantasy, and suspense settings ^^ I enjoy stories that keep me on edge and fully focused, where the tension keeps rising and I never know what's coming next.
Fantasy is honestly

for me because of the worldbuilding and lore. As for suspense and horror, I love the unpredictability and plot twists that makes me go

'didn't expect that'

Overall, intense and mentally engaging stories are my food. The ending feels more satisfying after i have had to go through all ups and downs of the story.

Historical, pyschological mainly or anything darker/moody. Also, long heavy plots/overarching mysteries with twists are more up my alley.

huge fan of fantasy settings, both high- and dark fantasy. and i also like horror themes and mysteries too.

I prefer games set in more modern times! I don't mind if it has elements of fantasy, like Cafe Enchante, or Re:Birthday Song, and so on, but I just prefer the time zone to be modern.

Modern and mystery, horror games. I like 9rip. 7scarlet could have been good too...but the plot development and cliche writing was so bad.
