Do you use the Auto Play function when reading VNs?

Actually, I find the automatic mode quite handy. I often use it when I'm lying in bed because I don't feel like taking my hands out from under the covers due to the cold weather—the auto mode really frees up my hands lol. :akazukin_evillaugh:

i like using auto for renpy games where you can go backward by scrolling back (in case i miss something or want to reread), but other than that, i avoid it because i'm worried i'll miss stuff as it's likely i didn't save either TT

also, i noticed that the auto in japanese vns tend to be too slow so i like to just use my controller when i can because its easier than clicking my mousepad/keyboard!

being able to scroll back the text is a really good feature to be only limited to renpy, every game should have it. checking the backlogs just don't have the same feeling :(

exactly!! having only the backlog means you miss replaying voicelines, sprite changes, and sometimes even cgs </3

I only use it when I'm eating or when my hands are tired.

I'm sort of aiming for that, but can't quite get there yet. I dunno why my reading speed is so slow that even on the slowest setting its not quite enough time...

At first, I wrote it thinking it was convenient, but rather, I felt that I was distracted from reading the text, so now I don't write it at all.

Every time I put the game on auto, I space out and suddenly have no idea what's happening in the story, then I have to scroll back through the log:akazukin_sweat:

nope bc im studying japanese so i read really slowly and try to understand it. after the chara speaks i reread it again too

Never used. I think this feature is most useful for recording gameplays

Never. I've tried it for English translated stories, but it's always to slow or too fast, and somehow even when the story is interesting, I tend to nod off if I'm not the one clicking the button.

I'm a pretty religious Auto-mode user as I like to read while my hands are free to do other things, but being a bit of a speed-reader makes Auto feel painfully slow at times. I like to hear the voice lines all the way through, so it depends I would say? There have been some characters that talk so........painfully.........slow.......that I caved and clicked through their lines just so I could get on with the story xD

I use it when it's less important but still want to hear the voice while doing other stuffs. Or it's important but not quite personal and the game has a lot texts and conversation.

I don't use autoplay, normally I progress along with my reading speed. If not that, then I'm skipskipskipping through already read text lol.

I like reading at my own pace so I haven't really used the auto mode. For the few times I've tried, the speed was never in that sweet spot for me lol

I don't use it unless it's a scene I really want to see.

If there is no voice acting I don't use it, but if it has voice acting I keep it on the fastest speed and auto 😊

I will use auto play. The speed is just right for me and i will listen to the voice until end.

Even tho my right hand always hurt me every time i want to play , but i don't like auto play, it always depends on my reading if I'm reading slowly or faster than auto play, sometimes if something happened like funny moment or embarrass moment i would need time to go to next sentence 😂

No, I never use it. I usually read faster than the characters speak, but when I hit a scene I really love, I like to stop and just fangirl over the CGs or the guys. Sometimes I'll stop just to admire the character's accessories or outfits. Since I tend to stop so spontaneously, auto-reading would be a total mood killer for me.

I'm actually a bit surprised that so many people eat while playing. I want to fully focus on enjoying the game, so I only play when my hands are completely free. If it's mealtime, I'll stop, finish my food, and then get back to the game.
