I enjoy BL games too, I really do — they have their own charm, emotional intensity, and dynamics that I genuinely appreciate. But if I had to choose just one genre to stick with for the rest of my life, I'd still pick otome games.

I think it's because otome just feels like "home" to me. It's the genre I've spent the most time with, the one that shaped my tastes, and the one that gives me the most comfort. There's something about experiencing romance from the MC's perspective — watching multiple different relationships unfold, seeing how each route changes the tone and emotional trajectory of the story — that never really gets old for me.

So yeah, even though I like BL, if I had to commit to one forever, it would be otome without hesitation.

I've never really got into otome, the best was Love Nikki, if we can call it that or mystic messenger. BL has long since absorbed my brain, I personally like the MCs and I like that we can delve into the raunchy and the dark with little pushback. So BL All the way!

Otome only. Well, I also play bishoujo games as that's where I started. Not into BL at all, though there is one or two I wish to play for story, if I can get past seeing two dudes lol..

I'd choose otome, mostly because there's just not that many BL games lol and also I like playing on console as well
I play galge and GL too, but otome has a special place in my heart since it's what got me into VNs

This is a really hard question, thank you for posting this LOL it made me aware of how important these 2 genres are to me..

My favourite creator of all time (rinko kurosawa) is a bl game maker, so I initially felt more like picking bl. But because of the lack of bl games (relative to otome) and the tendency for localized bl to be more eroguro-esque (which i would prefer consuming only occasionally..) I think otome is for the win!

The truth is, I haven't changed my opinion on this... now I'll add more... what's the point of new otome games now? love a woman li is a yuri thing... with that, it's clear to me that they're games for bisexual and submissive women with a high degree of sexism included because the otome protagonist cooks, does laundry, cries easily... I don't want to see that.

I had to pick the GL option im sorry-

serious answer this time, I'd rather read BL. I don't consider myself a fan of BL per se, despite the fact that I have spent a whole year reading it obsessively, but it has changed me in a way I will never recover from and I wouldn't risk losing that for the world.
