PRESENTATION
Hi. I'm Summer, I love the otome community and I've wanted to get involved for a long time. Thinking about how I can contribute, I remembered that I have a hyperfocus on male yanderes, lol.
This is my personal Yandere Masterlist. It contains yanderes from all kinds of media, mostly focused on otome games. There are only yandere characters that I have been able to verify beforehand, so there are probably quite a few missing. However, as an expert, I can assure you that there is no list more complete than this one. So instead of asking on Reddit and getting recommended the same five popular titles you've already played, you can come here and check it out.
Of course, as a fan of male yandere characters, I always welcome recommendations. If you leave them in the comments, I will definitely play the game , and after checking and rating it, it will be added to the master list.
CONTAINS SPOILERS
The list is designed so that you can see the character's name, the title of the work, my personal rating according to its category, the overall rating of the pace of the work and the amount of content + a direct link to vndt or my anime list. There is also a section with the character's personality type according to their MBTI and enneagram.
CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM
To consider a character yandere, I mainly took into account their background and their actions throughout the story. How they feel about the protagonist is essential. Characters who are purely violent or have no special attachment to the protagonist are not included here.
I divide yandere into seven categories: possessive, obsessive, clingy, manipulative, stalker, sadistic, and overprotective. Each has its own rules and point system.
CLINGY TYPE
This type of yandere consists of characters who are extremely attached to the mc, codependent characters, and mostly submissive characters. Their main need is to be close to the protagonist, mostly in a physical sense.
SADISTIC TYPE
This type of yandere includes those who feel a special desire or fascination for hurting the mc. They are anything but kind. However, in this category, I only include characters who commit these acts out of fetishism or a simply twisted view of love.
OVERPROTECTIVE TYPE
In contrast to the previous type, here I include characters who want to protect and care for their loved ones more than anything else. There are also those capable of sacrificing the entire world for love, and those who are vengeful toward anyone who harms their beloved.
STALKER TYPE
I find this category difficult. Furthermore, it is not as common as it might seem. Here are characters who persistently follow or watch over their loved ones from the shadows, collect their personal belongings and information, and seem to know much more than they let on.
MANIPULATIVE TYPE
In this section, you will find characters who envelop the mc with elaborate plans and psychological games. Kindly, many of the MCs in this section give in and fall for the charms of this type of yandere.
OBSESSIVE TYPE
The characters in this section are those who idealize you as something precious. A doll, goddess, angel, ideal wife, soul mate, or beautiful collector's item. They think about you constantly, and for them, there is nothing else.
POSESSIVE TYPE
This is the most common type of yandere. Their desire is simply to possess you. They don't want anyone else around and will use any method necessary to make sure you only look at them and no one else. They are jealous by default and don't want to let you get away.
