Otome Recommendation megathread

Games I enjoyed:
I am an artist (that's why my tastes are specific, That's not really why ) who occasionally plays otome and sometimes I draw on them, here are my recommendations, if you liked them, write to me in Private messages, I'll add something else.
1. Taisho x Alice - for those who are tired of the usual otome, but the game itself is not the game itself, I just can't 100% classify it as otome, everything is difficult. But at the heart of this game is LOVE.
2. Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly - It's a very cool story game, but there's very little romance. But I got so many emotions, so many powerful moments that made me shudder.
3. Code: Realize - the perfect combination of romance and plot. Although I don't like some romantic lines, it's individual. I didn't really like Saint Germain's Ruth, but I adore the character.
4. Utakata no Uchronia - in some places, the plot will subside. Confused by the open endings. BUT in is worth playing, I'm thrilled with TOBARI - my favorite is voiced by Okamoto Nobuhiko.
5. Homicipher - not quite a novel, not quite an otome. BUT she's so cool and special. Who is afraid of horrors and avoids them like me, don't be afraid, she's not scary, ahah

Looking for:
  • otome with LI groveling arc after betrayal, toxicity, manipulation etc
  • or otome with LIs where MC chased the LI first, stopped and then LI chased back
  • or otome where MC and LI are exes
Specific request I know...

Already tried:
  • Interactive fiction
  • Novels/Manhwa/Manhua
  • TV shows, dramas etc
I feel like I've played otome before with betrayal/toxicity/manipulation but never with a long/satisfying grovelling arc

I think:
- Hana Awase - Lots of toxic men and problematic tropes in some routes.
- Un:Logical - there is a character who is her ex boyfriend, seems really interesting.
- Diabolik Lovers - theres all of the above, and theyre all awful.
- OverReqiumz ? could fill the niche.

Just want to check there's redemption/grovelling arc for DiaLovers (I've been holding off on it because I've heard there's nuclear level of toxicity and I hope there's at least some payoff for poor MC)

Will defs be checking out Un:Logical and Hana Awase, and waiting for Over Requiemz

I would start with HanaAwase, it has some gameplay and you can grind out secret cgs and scenes by crushing the card game ranking (it gets very addictive)

Things I dont like: Not sure what to say here, uhh, I greatly disliked Yang's route in fated memories and found him annoying there. Couldn't believe for half a second he cared about MC

You might like Lance from Nameless ~ The One Thing You Must Recall~ if you haven't already played it, he's a kuudere...with Dante's colour scheme :ROFLMAO: (not really similar in personality though)

Bustafellows has Mozu who is very Kuudere, he might be right up your alley.

I would suggest someone like Shu from Bustafellows or even Mozu from Bustafellows ^^ Also maybe Axel from Ozmafia!

I recommend Kent from Amnesia! He's actually really sweet especially in the fandiscs haha. Definitely gives Van Hellsing vibes.

Hi! I'm looking for any Otome games that have cute animals, preferably a lot of them. I like most Otome games except some dark romance stuff (it can be a bit extreme).

Adding to the replies, Shunso from Meiji Tokyo Renka might also be your type. He's a bit sarcastic tho

just Shu doesn't really narrow down much tho

what aspect do you like about Shu? do you like his voice? --> then I suggest looking for a game that has toriumi-san in it as a love interest

can anyone recommend me some otome games with love interest that's the bad guy? or just a mean bully is fine i love wolf girl and black prince anime and trying to find a guy that's an asshole exactly like kyouya is hard

Are you looking for newer otome games recommendations? Otherwise some popular ones are Code Realize, Amnesia, and Collar x Malice. Some new ones that are out are sympathy Kiss, variable barricade, Even if Tempest and Virche ~ErroЯ:Salvation~ (though its kinda sad). Also there's some good ones from indie developers like Dark Nights Reflections just came out its like a squeal to Dark Nights. I hope it helps.
