I still fully believe that ignoring the behind the scenes changes, the old site was functionally superior in every way.
Yeah we've got a better ui (arguable) but that's mostly it. Years passed and they couldn't manage to reintroduce a single thing the community asked to get back. I guess we've got better forums? Announcement banners? On a video sharing platform?
Meanwhile, the quality selection is still fucked; an absolute fuck ton of creators simply left after what was it - 2021? Because it simply became a job to upload regularly.
Even still, they've had server side issues pretty much constantly since before the update/merge and didn't manage to fully solve them. Whatsoever.
Now, I'm not saying I know best because I sure as hell don't, nor I'm going to pretend that running a site, servers, hosts is cheap and easy but.. I do FEEL like they've enjoyed shoveling at their own feet a bit much.
Now there's cloudflare alleged drama (rule 7 for those who remember this thread's past life) and they've had countless warnings about the tagging system. People BEGGED for mods to moderate tags and for users to strictly tag and force the system. Alas.

guys, nekohouse is still working, it just has it's domain expired. if you open it using ip-address (91.149.227.200) you get the default nginx page and if you add "91.149.227.200 nekohouse.su" to /etc/hosts (for windows it's "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts") you can access the website again

AFAIK, .su-domains are deprecated and will be turned off at 2030, while some providers do it in advance. kemono was redirecting from .su to .cr to avoid this problem, nekohouse did nothing. i'm afraid it is abandoned by it's developers and will be down once the hosting is expired

you'd better dump everything you need before it's too late

Can't believe the year 2026 started with a DDoS attack—it's just ridiculous. Anyway, I'm glad back to normal now.

We used to have something in the past but ended up shutting everything down because a lot of scammer would defraud user (asking for donation, spreading virus, fake logins authentication, offering non existent paid VIP program, fake our name to ask for request money, and false news etc)
