Well, I'm not sure about 'never'. They weren't DMCAd, so they can choose other option than cloudflare, and migrate to other host provider. Theoretically. But it will take some time.

Is hosting loli content one of cloudflares rules? Or at least making sure that it's properly tagged so people could then blacklist it if they choose to do so? Because Iwara has the worst tagging system I've ever seen. Half the loli content isn't even tagged.
i saw some rumors that it was because they were allowing certain type of content (you know what i mean) and this smells like it is plausible
the problem is not the tag system, the problem is that people don't use it, like the vast majority of videos i have seen on iwara has a "3D" or "mmd" tag and thats it, the tag system works fine the problem are the users who are too lazy to use it and iwara not enforcing it.
I hope they're able to come back and enforce tagging rules.

it seems like cloudflare is still working, what not working is host. take down site on 1st of january is not some kind of a new year present. it is date of some new rule or law is came into force. and host knew about everything and just pull the plug. god dammit. i bet TOS update email was end up in the trash as usual
From what I got it's CF who cut access to their services first, and then they notified the host provider so they cut off access as well, presumably because CF presented Iwara as some kind of pedo haven and the host wanted none of that (which I understand, even if people conflating fictional and real content piss me off to no end for a few reasons).
For now it's still unclear whether the host outright deleted everything or just cut access to the server, if it's the latter there's hope nothing has been lost yet. Whatever happens next, let this be a lesson to Iwara to do more regular backups, and to either enforce the tagging system more seriously in the future or to use a community tag system, which works well enough on e-hentai/exhentai.
