Just want to point out that there seems to be this new approach on the market of going all in with OCR to grab the raw text from games.
It's not perfect but it can work with games that are more difficult to hook.

One of such 'new' tools is called Visual Novel OCR.
The good thing about it is that the dev is also working on other things such as using AI to train a translation model which can be used to translate anything japanese offline.
It seems that it translates better than the likes of google but it is still lacking behind the now popular DeepL.
