  1. Do you like the slice-of-life otome genre?

As long as I am attracted to the LIs, I'll play any genre! I like a lot of fluff, which I feel you tend to get more of when it's slice of life, rather than say fantasy, or the mystery genre, because those ones tend to be more story/plot-driven. I like them, too, but I love fluff.
  2. Opinions on spoilers

Spoilers aren't a big deal for me. In terms of plot spoilers, I always go for the LI I like the most at first, and don't follow the recommended play order ever so sometimes I end up playing the most spoiler-y route first and then know what's going on in all the other routes. It's actually...
  3. .

Like other people have said: rape. I can tolerate a lot of messed up behaviour, like the LI killing you or locking you in a cage, but that's where I draw the line. It makes me really uncomfortable.
  4. .

Not really, no. I actually tend to dislike the canonical character because most of the route is more about tying up all the loose ends and less about romance overall which is what I want most from otome games.
  5. What is one side character from any otome/BL that you think deserves to have their own route?

He technically had a route, but it was more like a semi-route and not a fully complete one, so I pick Demento from Period Cube. I want more of my deranged boy. For another who did not get a route at all: Dromi from Cafe Enchante.
  6. What got you interested in otome games?

I think it was a mixture of a few things. I played Harvest Moon growing up, and really liked the romance aspect. It was how I first got my romance itch. Then later I somehow stumbled on sim dates games, but they were generally made with male MCs and female LIs, but I took what I could get. Then...
  7. Which yandere character has left the biggest impression on you?

Toma was probably the first yandere character I ever played, and I think he remains the one with the biggest impression on me specifically because of . I don't think anyone will ever top him for that reason lol.
  8. How much do you spend on otome games?

Otome games for the Switch where I am cost around 70$ CAD for the physical game (I prefer physical over digital for my collection), so around that price every few months. I haven't been buying much of late though, because I don't have a lot of time to play them lately. I don't spend any money on...
  9. Do you clear all the characters in an otome game before starting a new one?

I do try to clear games before moving on because I am mostly a completionist, but sometimes it's tough because I find that the game is a slog/I don't like the remaining LIs. I don't have as much free time anymore to play games so I'd rather not be spending my time playing a game I'm no longer...
  10. share your favorite otome characters' interactions (or just talk about them)

YEEEEEES I loved those scenes lol It was so cute! (Spoiler for the CG) Some of my other favourites include the banter between Enomoto and Sasazuka from Collar x Malice, and a lot of the scenes in Yo-Jin-Bo, like everyone picking on Mon-Mon, or Jin telling the MC that , or the bathhouse scenes...
  11. Can you imagine yourself in MC's place?

I like it when the main character is their own character, because I don't tend to self-insert. I like seeing the MC and LI falling in love with one another, not the LI falling in love with me. On the other hand, I can see why some people who do self-insert want someone to be an empty vessel...
  12. What are some cliche phrases you see all the time in otomes?

Totally this, along with "You do know that I'm a man, right?" usually in response to the MC getting too close to him physically or not respecting his manhood somehow.
  13. What Otome fd has disappointed you

Probably Radiant Tale Fanfare. It just wasn't as fluffy as I had hoped it would be.
  14. Does playing otome games for a long time make it harder to date in real life?

I think this is beautifully put! When you've never been in a relationship before, sometimes you put up with things that you shouldn't because you just want to be in a relationship, not understanding what you actually want from your partner. If otome games have shown you what you want out of...
  15. Do game spoilers (plot, CG, etc.) bother you? Or do you prefer seeing them?

In terms of plot, I don't think ever getting spoiled on a major twist or anything upset me. I can still enjoy the story even if I know the big reveal. Reminds me of the Sixth Sense movie, where I knew the major spoiler before ever even knowing about the movie. I generally don't follow the...
