All BLVN anime adaptations of N+C censored the gay relationships out, basically altering the whole genre of the story, since romance is an important part in all of them. On top of that the budget and overall quality of the anime was very poor, I wouldn't consider it when deciding whether or not...
I was super into the first Paradise VN until the actual "romantic" part where everybody becomes a toxic abuser T.T I felt so betrayed I stopped reading it entirely but when the eng translation came out I followed reviews and got to know the path the story takes (I would never have guessed XD). I...
Tbh? Months. For a variety of reasons: VNs aren't my main hobby (although I like them very much), I read in Japanese, I have a full time job and a house to look after. If a VN really interests me I can complete a route in a short period of time, but it still usually takes me way more to complete...
I like to play blind but that doesn't mean I make random choices. I always choose what I'm more curious about, for example pursuing my favourite LI or deciding a plan of action depending on what I would do or what I think it's most fitting for the MC.
I don't have a clear-cut preference, as long as the erotic scene is well written. Unfortunately, tbh I don't like most sex scenes in BL (but I'm hard to please I guess XD). Anyway, maybe I'd say I prefer switch because it's more interesting to read.
I mean gay people exist XD I'm fine with secondary romances no matter the type of couple. If it's about the main romance, I can understand it not being to everyone's liking, and I also think in general keeping the genre separate makes for a better result (but that doesn't mean it can't be done...
My main reasons for learning Japanese have been wanting to read manga and loving languages. I think I've been studying for about 6 years, although on and off depending on free time and energy. The thing I've felt helped me the most was just immersing a lot. VNs are ones of the best media to do...
Definitely! It's okay if I don't like the first recommended or enforced LI, but at least the route should be interesting store-wise. Unless I know "it gets better", I can drop a VN if the first route is a let down.
Why not both :3 jk apart, in general I like BL more because the relationships are more "equal" (when seme/uke roles aren't stereotyped) and the main protagonist is always fleshed out instead of self-insert.
Tbh I'm the same, more or less. If I really dislike an important plot point, I might skip a VN entirely. With characters it's different. As long as other nice characters make up for the bad ones, I'm willing to let the bad one slide XD
I created a thread in the Otome corner to discuss non-controversial VNs/routes, got some answers and even answered back, but now that thread is nowhere to be found. I haven't gotten any message from the staff telling me it got removed. Was it deleted accidentally? Can someone explain?
Not really an answer to your post but I miss the time installing VNs was hard, when official translations basically didn't exist and you had to change local, crack the game, patch it, sometimes patch the patch... XD I should try to install an older game just to experience that sweet pain again.
My two non-negotiables are:
1) the art style is okay. It doesn't have to be the best ever, but I have to like it.
2) the VN looks like it has something to tell.
If the art style is bad or I really hate the character design, I cannot get into it. But an amazing art style doesn't sell me a VN...
