I don't even remember when exactly it was, but I was looking for references on pinterest and came across a few characters from Diabolik Lovers — and that's kinda how I found out about otome games.

Well, of course I prefer it when a game is fully voiced, since I can understand some Japanese by ear to a certain extent. But when there's no voice acting and my translator messes up, it really slows things down.

Yeah, because I'm a perfectionist — even if I don't really like a game, I can't bring myself to drop it without finishing it 100%.

I usually put them aside and play shorter games instead. Then when I have some time off, I finally go back to the ones I set aside.

I'll probably just have less time for games, but other than that — new games keep coming out every year and they just keep getting better, so I'm definitely not dropping them anytime soon.

Probably the plot more, because if it's weak, the romance won't be able to make up for it that much. But when it's the other way around — a good story with romance on top — it's just perfect.

I'm pretty chill about it, though it can be hard to get used to a new voice for a character — especially if it's your favorite. It kinda feels like they lose some of their charm in that moment. But I understand that companies have valid reasons for recasting, so I try to accept it.

I started out with BL 'cause I thought otome was all the same cringey tropes. But now I definitely don't think that — I play both and love both.

Oh yeah, I also play with headphones and I prefer to crank the voice volume all the way up to 100. But I always leave the bgm on too, 'cause without it I just feel kinda off.
