I actually watched most of them before I played the games because I was obsessed with reverse harem animes. I didnt even know what otome games were at the time, but I remeber loving the animes so much (I got into otome games a couple years later). UtaPrince, Brothers Conflict, Diabolical Lovers...
I wont get into a game strictly because of the MC but I might drop a game because of it. I mean we spend more time with the MC then with all the LNs, so having a likeable MC is really important. Honestly tho Im not super picky about MCs, just no Mary Sue (sometimes its fine) very baby like, I...
I always play as if I'm just watching it all play out, like I'm reading a romance novel. Idk its just really hard for me to get immersed and feel like the mc without feeling weird or icked out, its the same reason I hate reading x reader fanfics
Reading mainly because I typically use a guide...too many choices can seem kind of annoying at times. But for stories with alot of LNs or if I don't really care about going down a specific route, then multiple choices are always really fun!
If I enjoy the storyline, then I do but if im not a fan I normally only finish the routes for the charcters I like. But getting it 100% is super satisfying!
I play more BL games, so I'm curious to see what otome games have been popular/your favorite!
My current fav rn would probably be Taisho x Alice!! A well-written story with good pacing and bittersweet endings, what else do you want? The art is sooo pretty! (im a sucker for a soft pastel...
Depends on the game but normally I dont. If the game is really gameplay heavy I dont really enjoy replaying but if its my fav route/plot heavy I might replay it.
Self insert always feels awkward for me so I like canon names better. But I also like to play the games as though I'm just watching a story play out instead of being in the story
Bad ending so the good ending feels more rewarding! Also because I tend to get the bad ending first...so I don't really have a choice if not following a guide
Personally 2D, I love seeing the different art styles within the 2D genre! And honestly 3D can sometimes look a little strange but games like LADS does it super nice so I don't mind
