I think almost everyone who likes otome games has played Amnesia, but if they haven't then I would recommend that one, it is a must when playing otomes (and it's a good starter). Also Café Enchante and Cupid Parasite, just bc (⁠｡⁠•̀⁠ᴗ⁠-⁠)⁠✧

Otome I'd say tokimemo, but I think it's bc I usually count all 4 games as a really long one. As for BL I don't really remember, probably Slow damage or Ooe.

I usually prefer a bottom MC simply because I think bottoms are pretty, and with BL I tend to get more attached to the MC than the LIs, but I'm ok with top and switch too. Some of my favourite BLs actually have a top MC, like Ooe and Lesson (⁠ʘ⁠ᴗ⁠ʘ⁠✿⁠)
