when it comes to character designs, what is the visual features that is your biggest weakness on a LI? because for me, i think my type for men in real life and in otome games is super similar... i have some kind of weakness for men in glasses ‍‍



and also men with long hair, ugh their aura is just so attractive.

Probably LIs with a beauty mark, wear uniform or kimono, and gloves! lol I couldn't agree more about glasses and long hair. They just have a certain charm that definitely stands out.

This one isn't an otome game, but I remember a Korean novel where a character had long hair and the author cut it! I was devastated lol, but I'm really glad the manhwa artist tossed that idea and kept his hair long in the manhwa! Long live long hair!

hmm...my visual weakness is long black hair <3 Same as in real life. Also i like Li's with silver hair and odd eyes.

a LI with Long bangs and hair always gets me . I like any hair color but a darker color is preferred.

Long hair, I absolutely love long hair
but as time passes, I've also realized that I like whenever the LI has an outfit with gaps
Kind of like how Ankou has his outfit open in the back
I've also seen this recent promo Utapri art around where some of the LIs have gaps in their outfits

My megane obsession extends to real life, too, but the guy has to be at least somewhat good-looking in the first place, HAHA. Cannot say the same for long hair, though -- although I love long-haired 2D men, I generally prefer guys with short (or short-ish) hair in real life. Perhaps it is because so few men in real life can actually pull off flowing locks.

TANNED LIs!! I get so excited whenever I see even a hint of melanin because theyre so rare when will otome games realise all skin tones are beautiful??? I know theyre japanese and all but even japanese characters can have slightly tanner skin!!

Silver/white hair paired with piercing light eyes gets me every single time, it's an instant route pick for me! Add a beauty mark under the eye or on the collarbone, rolled-up dress shirt sleeves showing forearms, and gloves? I'm completely sold. • Eyepatches!! I wish we had more otome LIs with eyepatches. I love characters w/ eyepatches from any media (Goro Majima, Dimitri Fire Emblem)

• Masks! Face masks like Hanzo from Nightshade or partial face masks like the Phantom from PersonA Opera Za no Kaijin. It creates a mysterious vibe.

• Scars, either on body or face.

I really love male characters designed with long white or black hair, paired with narrow, elongated eyes—featuring slightly long lashes—and fair skin; that look strikes a balance between mysterious and cool. Crucially, they need to have a tall, slender build that exudes an air of scholarly refinement or a unique kind of coolness, rather than coming across as immature or brash. (For example: Tomoe of Kamisama Hajimemashita)

I'm also fond of "shota" characters—those with a sweet appearance, bright-colored cohair, and big, sparkling eyes that make you just want to cherish them. (Like Kilua in Hunter x Hunter)

On the other hand, I don't like characters who are overly bulky, excessively muscular, or have a deep tan.
