In BL games, do you prefer top MC, bottom MC or Switch MC ?

Most early 2000s BLVN have switch MC, i think around 2010ish when N+C become more popular, exclusively bottom MC become more of the norm, with top MC being an outlier

I myself like Top MC because it was my first exposure to BLVN, and i just like dominating the LI and hear their voices I play Switch MC as well but for route where they are topping

Do let me know what do you guys like !

I really like Top MC too. Growing up reading Jump shonen manga and shipping characters, I've always preferred the protagonist taking the dominant role, and that carries over when I play BL games. I love the aggressiveness the top shows toward the bottom, and the inner monologues when the story takes a wild turn. Please recommend your favorite top MC games to me.（≧0≦）//

I tend to prefer bottom MC. I'd never thought about why, but now that you mention it, I think it might be because many of the first BL games I played featured protagonists in the bottom role, so I naturally got used to it. Maybe that's why I still find it easier to immerse myself in those kinds of relationships. I think the works we first fall in love with have a pretty big influence on our tastes.

Ideally, switch MC. I want more options and more angles of characters, I guess. Or it's up to scenarios and characters' personalities in story. Seeing MC being either top or bottom in all routes is - lack of better word - bland. I mean there must be many kinds of characters in game. Specifying MC to be top or bottom with all of them in each route is unrealistic to me.

I don't think I have a strict preference. My first BL game was DRAMAtical Murder, so I kind of got used to the MC being the bottom by default. However, I find that a bisexual MC who can be both a top and a bottom leaves a much deeper impression on me.

Don't think I have much of a strong preference as long as they're written well? Like an MC can have a generally strong personality but still be a bottom and viceversa.
If I really had to pick though, I might appreciate switches and top mcs a tad bit more due to how more common bottom mcs are (more so with the former offering more character exploration when a game even offers choosing that aspect) but it all ultimately depends on if the actual resulting character dynamics 'work out' for me or not.

I really like switches and would like to see more of them. It was a big loss for me when all the MC became bottoms (why ). Ideally, I wouldn't want routes where one is always bottom and the other is always top, but rather where they switch roles during a single route. i only like top mc but have to settle for vers mcs since there isn't many top only mcs. i'm fine with being given the option to choose myself but i hate when it's biased towards one side like misaki from phantom thief jade letting it be known that he prefers topping and was upset that the mc wanted to top again it was a real boner killer for me. i genuinely don't understand why bottom mc is the most popular i really don't see the appeal. every game i've played has been top or vers mc i really can only enjoy younger short top mc x older tall bottom li. also cute shibusawa pfp love him

I wouldn't say I have any strong preferences tbh, but it's always nice to see switch MCs. Most switch MCs have defined bottom/top routes, but I think it'd be interesting to see it during routes as well

As for players looking for more top MCs, pretty sure all parade's MCs are top only so I think keeping an eye out for their releases is worth it if that's what you're looking for!

I prefer switch MC more because I like the freedom to choose the dynamics between the MC and the LI. But as long as the story is good, I am good with anything.

I think I've always preferred the top MC to the bottom MC. He has the initiative, and I can feel his masculine charm well. But again, the best thing is the switch MC. I think it shows various charms depending on the situation and the opponent!
So until now, my favorite game is always Kichiku Megane.

if you like aggresive top MC i would suggest all Madalabo catalogue ! well Madalabo MC are all sadist though...
but out of all three game available, i like Kanja S the most
besides that... Kichiku megane is also good, i like anata nikki euforia also

I agree ! My taste is developed like this because my first BL game is hadaka shitsuji (going extreme right out of bat, but at that point i didn't know)

If you want more option and more angles of character in the story, i suggest you play Square no kankei ! You can choose your MC out of all 4 characters, you can become a bottom or top in each route with your chosen LI, and each LI and your choosen dynamic will change how the story unfolds ! It's a revolutionary game imo

I think bottom mc is more popular due n+c influence and since n+c game is popular, more demand for bottom mc is there hence the cycle continue

im fine with either, but i like uke mcs more because its more fun for me to play as the raped instead of the raper xd i generally like it way more when a game has more seme characters because theres something special about a seme moaning.. even if only a little bit!
and also, its so fun to see a bratty mc learning his place>:3c
