Switch games:
citron/Eden,ryujinx/benji-sc emulator

Most games can use citron or Eden.
I think citron is better, it will make the phone less hot and power-consuming.

If you encounter incompatible games such as even if tempest/diabolik lovers, which only words and sounds, but no pictures, you can use ryujinx or benji-sc. There is not much difference. I am used to using benji-sc.
In fact, ryujinx/benji-sc is compatible with all otome games, but this simulator will have frame rate and occasional flashback problems, so I only consider it when citron can't run.

If a new game cannot be opened in the emulator, update the emulator, keys, driver or firmware.

PC games:
winlator,gamehub,tyranor emulator

Winlator and gamehub can run most PC otome games
Gamehub is similar to winlator, but simpler and more novice-friendly.I prefer to use this emulator.,if you have problems with winlator, you can use this one

If a game can't be started, it's probably a Japanese game. Change your game folder and game exe to English or numbers.

However, the compatibility of PC emulator is not as good as that of Switch emulator, so if you encounter some problems with the compatibility of individual games, I think it's better to play on the computer lol.

I ran a lot of otome games, and only two games didn't work.
One is Melty snow, too old, rare so just give up directly, and the other is Seijuurou-kun no Sakotsu o Sawarou, made by TyranoScript, so If a PC game can't run, you can check game engine on vndb, and it says TyranoScript, you can choose Tyranor.

Tyranor can also play games made by kirikiri and rpgmaker engine, Japanese galgame use this simulator more, we encounter few games that must use it.

There is also a kind of game that only provides set up exe. You can install them on your computer first, then transfer them to your mobile phone and run them.

PSP/nds/PSV simulators have developed very well, just follow the online tutorial.
The PSV simulator has been updated by a new team recently.
Site: vita3k.org, but I play PC and Switch games more now, so I'm not sure about the performance of this new one. I think it's similar to the original PSV simulator.

That's all. If you encounter other problems while running games, I will answer them again.

Simulator is difficult to perfectly restore the smooth experience of computer and Switch. I think it is enough as long as it doesn't affect us to watch the plot and live2d of characters most of the time.
Because even if I keep updating the simulator and drivers, there is no change in the optimization of otome games, the update is only for popular games.

Thank you for taking your time writing this. I wonder what is your take on sudachi? I watch switch emu scene from afar rn and got a bit lost after yuzu and ryujinx fork. (Those are prob not in development anymore cause of nintendo ninjas? )

Sudachi is not in development anymore, and I believe the project GitHub has been taken down as well. However, I still have the emulator files in some old devices and it does work with plenty of games, but it would be best to use Eden or Citron for the best experience.

Never tried emulating games on the Android before only on a gaming laptop, so this is super helpful/interesting post. Are there any issues with lagging/degraded graphics quality? My phone is not very powerful and quite old (Google Pixel 5)

You can use the citron emulator. I read their website, the chip of your mobile phone model is supported.
Visual novel games do not require high performance, and there may be a little problem but it will not affect the experience. As long as you don't play games like Pokémon lol.

Sudachi, like citron and Eden, are all developed based on yuzu, and there is almost no difference in playing otome games.
The fork of ryujinx is benji-sc. I think the current ns emulator is actually the same as before, yuzu and ryujinx, but with a new name. So as I said before, it is enough to choose citron or Eden. If some games are not compatible, choose ryujinx or benji-sc. I don't like using ryujinx because of its poor customization and low frame rate.

Hello.
I'm playing PC games on an Android-based mobile device.
I'm using Winlator.
I can launch most games that have a save folder within the game folder itself, but games that automatically create save folders or system folders outside the game folder (e.g., within My Documents) don't launch properly.
If you know how to launch these games, I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know.

I haven't noticed the problem that the game can't run because of the save position. Could you tell me the name of the game? I'll download it and try it myself. Maybe it's other settings.

Thank you for your reply.
I'm glad you're interested.

・月ノ光 太陽ノ影
https://x.gd/0ZNA8 (Available for download from Depositfiles)

This game automatically creates a folder named "アロマリエ" in your Documents folder upon first launch.
It then creates a save folder within that folder using the game's name.
It does not auto-generate on Winlator and will fail to launch altogether.

・異世界に転生したら伝説の勇者(受)でした!?
https://x.gd/nIah4

This game also creates a folder named after the game within Documents.
It saves both save data and system data here.
While playable on Winlator, folders are still not automatically generated in Documents, preventing game saves and system settings saves.
This game can be played all the way through as long as you don't turn off the power.
...But that's just too painful.

To launch a game in Winlator, you must change the game title from Japanese to English (it doesn't necessarily have to be the actual game name; any English characters will work).

I ran the second game you provided, but it wasn't in winlator. The emulator I used was simpler than winlator. You can download it on this website https://gamehub.xiaoji.com. There is nothing wrong with save, but you also need to change the title.
I usually change the titles of folders and game exe to English when playing Japanese games.
I think you can also run the first game perfectly in this simulator. If there is any problem, I will download it and test it again.

I'll try installing the emulator you recommended.

I'd heard about Winlator Frost, a fork of Winlator that seemed strong with Asian languages (Japanese, Chinese, Korean), and was hoping it might work without renaming files. Unfortunately, it appears development has ended.
It seems to be restarting under the name Star, so I'll be keeping an eye on it.

Thank you for your reply.
Is this running on Winlator?
I would appreciate it if you could share the container settings.
(Windows version of the created container and other settings)

If you are using a different emulator, could you please let me know which one?
GameHub?

I'm using the Amod version(https://github.com/afeimod/winlator-mod), which is more suitable for Asian users. I basically keep it on the default settings(except the driver, depends on your processor), but I think the key to running Japanese content properly is to set the system locale to Japanese.
Besides that, I'm not sure if it will cause any issues—I copied all the font files from my computer into the container.

I've been checking out the official Winlator Amod platform.
The development is very active and promising.
Since the main Winlator is moving slowly, I'm considering switching over to this one.
The latest Amod3fix2 seems to require Wine 10.15 to be installed separately, so I'll wait for a bundled version.

Before giving up and saying "It won't move...," it's truly gratifying to have more cards up your sleeve as countermeasures.
Thank you!

I've thought about this issue too. After all, there are times when I really want to play games while lying in bed, but I don't want to deal with lag. I do have a Switch, but for some games, I need to rely on translation software on my computer—otherwise, I can't understand them. Smartphone performance is really poor compared to computers, so I've switched to using a screen mirroring function over the same network—running the game on my computer and streaming the display to my iPad, while also being able to control the computer by tapping on the iPad screen. If the network speed is good, the latency is acceptable, but it becomes a problem if the connection is poor. This transmission works similarly to a local area network, and to make it work, you need to install Splashtop Personal on the iPad or iPhone and Streamer on the computer.

Although the whole process is free, I still find it quite troublesome and don't do it often. But if I want to mirror my computer screen, it's the best solution I know of. Note: The above was translated with the help of DeepSeek. My English isn't great, so thanks for your understanding!

The contents extracted after downloading did not match the folder contents posted by mikoto.

I used three different decompression tools (WinRAR, 7zip, Explzh), but the contents are as shown in the attached image.

This appears to be the structure within the program files folder shown in the installation screen posted by mikoto. There is no file like setup.exe.

Could you please tell me which decompression software you are using?
Thank you in advance.

I didn't use forum resources,I'm using a disc image that contains the complete installation files. I don't really understand how the hard drive version runs, but as far as I know, some older games require registry registration and administrator privileges.
