hello,
i'm not very active here but i check for some games from time to time.
today though i cant open any threads in the Otome Games, Artbooks & CDs section. i don't know if this means i did something and was blocked from that area or if there is an issue with the site? i didn't get any emails and all my alerts here are gone

Solution
Why do we even need this forum if the game's access is now attributed to 'contributions'? If you need me to make 200 posts with game assistance, it can last for years. And I don't want to work for free when users who registered earlier than me with the same number of messages have special access. It's really easier to just buy a game

You do need to stop making up numbers. I never specify any numbers. To begin with, where did you get that number 200 posts from? If it's coming from me saying to attain a certain rank, then surely for the rank. I never say to access Otome Group, requires 200 posts.

Thanks For The Info. I Am Experiencing This Myself Too. A Punishment For Lurkers Perhaps? HaHa ;-;

Not really no, I cannot...
I messaged one of the moderators about it, so I'm hoping that theyre gonna get back to me... Hope this is just a temporary issue

doesnt it kinda defeat the purpose of the site? Since anime-sharings' purpose is to make games and such accessible to normal people? If this is how it's gonna run, it will hurt a lot of users, especially those that are here for years but stay as lurkers.
Not to mention that even if this "stricter version of hide" can be disabled, they are planning on having it on by default, so the threads OP will need to tweak it themselves.
But the problem is, you might be surprised at how many of the uploaders are no longer active on this site...

If this is the direction they're going for, I would hope atleast that they're gonna add a way for users to apply as a trusted member or something, as to balance out the harsh policy they're enforcing.

For me it is a little- I understand they had ddos attack on site and some malicious person deliberately added harming thing in their uploads so they want to prevent that but as you've said it's gonna hurt a lot of users. Also the fact that I didn't know that spamming in the spam sections is hurting progress to lvl'upping rank but it was advised in one thread and I'm lurker and total introvert irl so upping a rank is gonna be hard for such people.

Ouch, i was wondering about this also...I was told to use spam to boost my messages when I first joined and now its sadly bit me in the bottom. 🥺

If this restriction is intentional, it's not going to help prevent future attacks/harmful uploads: All it does is make a big part of this site inaccessible to most people, that has nothing to do with the incidents in question.

I just don't get why they would do this.

There are old users who have even less than 15 posts, but they have the rank of trusted member and we are still new member and I don't even know how many posts we need to get to get this rank and access to all sections in the future

One thread that I saw says 200 posts or reactions??? But i saw some trusted members that have 100+ posts and 100+ reactions so I'm also not sure how to get a badge

Hello,

First and foremost, please do not spam. It will only harm your progress.

Since this is pretty much a blunder for the Otome Group, I am doing my best to choose my words carefully.

For over a decade, the Otome Section of Anime-Sharing has been a generous, welcoming space, providing dedicated Otome fans like you with access to quality content completely free of charge. No VIP purchases, no donations, just goodwill from us to the community.

However, during that time, we have also seen some misuse and abuse of that goodwill. We know who you are and we're not naive. Unfortunately, everything needs to evolve at some point. The good news is that Anime-Sharing will remain free. You won't be asked for donations or pressured to join paid VIP groups. That said, it will no longer be quite as unrestricted as before.

Starting this year, we are gradually introducing a new forum ranking system with associated privileges. Members who contribute positively and earn their progress will naturally move forward, while those who do not will be left behind. Spamming or trying to game the system will only set you back. Multiple safeguards are in place to prevent manipulation.

If you didn't read the paragraph above, please pay attention from here:

If you currently do not have access to the Otome Section, please do not spam just to increase your post count. It will hurt your progress.

Not all hope is lost. We're continuously refining filters to prioritize genuine, helpful members of the Otome community. Those without access now should regain it in the coming days.

However, if you have been lurking for 10 years without any participation at all, you will need to help yourself to move forward.

Contributions here don't mean you need to buy games. It means: helping other members with technical issues, sharing your knowledge, actively participating in the community, assisting with reuploads, or helping to store our collection of precious games.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we work to build a fairer, more vibrant Otome community.

I'm also having this problem even though I already have 100+ posts and 200+ reactions (stuck at Member rank)
Though I guess it's because I used to spam as well? Or maybe should have 200+ posts instead according to this guide?
This is just really frustrating because old accounts got the better chance of getting the Trusted/Elite badge even without doing anything. -_-

It looks like my game shared post was deleted because an 'uploader' posted the same thing afterward. I guess there's no point in members sharing games on this forum anymore.

Not really no, I cannot disclose the true reason, but if you're like 1-2-3 lurker, then yes. Everyone else who had a genuine interest in this community will have a fair chance.

Let me put it this way: while the Trusted and Elite member rank is an assured way to have access, it's not the only condition.

That said, I think I didn't stress this enough: if you do not have access now, wait for a few more days?

Did I make that clear enough? Hell I never even say the cutoff date but if you have an account before you read this message, you're pretty much well ahead.

I understand everyone frustration but it's not that as bad as it looks.

Edit: Let me put in a small FAQ:

1. Do you need the badge Trusted/Elite Member?
A. While having the badge is an assurance to get access, it's not the only condition.

2. What do I do to get access?
A. Do nothing, Wait. Don't Spam. Or just enjoy some doujinshi, some voice drama. You are free to complain here, I do read everyone's complaint, it is encouraging.

3. I'm shy, I'm introverted, I'm a lurker, are you punishing me for being one?
A. No, while we cannot disclose the true reason behind. Also if you really don't have anything other than a profile, then sadly you are unlikely to qualify.

4. I'm belong to the number 3. and I absolutely didn't do anything, what do I do to get access?
A. You probably belong to the group we want to get rid of by accident. Either way, there's nothing you can do but to wait until everyone else get vetted.

5. I heard from someone else that I need X amount of posts to have access.
A. You need X amount of post to attain a rank, but those X amount of post doesn't mean you go in forum game and get that number, it would punish you instead.
It also had nothing to do with having access to Otome Game, read Question 1.

6. I see that I'm "New Member", am I qualified?
A. Most likely, if you are within registration date cut-off and as long as you're not agent zero (0).

I don't say that it is precisely 200 posts, but the 200 posts have been mentioned this summer without Otome details. That is, it's unclear how much activity is required to qualify. This limitation just came up right away; you only responded after other people started spamming, which is a bit alarming.
P. S. I have posted this message before your edits, please ignore the parts you have already answered

Sorry for the question but a trusted member told me to use the spam folders to up my messages to access a game once, am I penalized due to this? AS I just assumed a trusted member would be telling the truth haha.

If so once I get a PC ill try and help a lot more, using a steam deck is difficult lol

Actually, all you had to do was to wait. I only jump in when people start spamming and I wasn't sure of the reason. And then I start seeing wild number out of no where. It is hardly over a day.

No, you're only penalized for the rank you want to attain. But the penalty will be less impactful as time goes on. All you have to do is... act normal.

Since I'm not sure what you want - if you just want to access Otome game, then it's unlikely penalize you too much.

Thank you for such detailed answers, we will wait. If I understand correctly, there is no limit on messages on daily, unless you try to increase your rank in 1 day using spam, right?
