Everyone knows Japan's obscenity laws are a vast joke. You can draw a little girl getting speared through by a huge ass tentacle, no problem, just make sure to hide her clit tho, that's obscene. Yeah, sure, okay.

Always happy to see creators in any medium push against that shit in any way they can, even if it might put them in hot waters sometimes.

... but the JP themselves support the mosaic, the anti-obscenity laws & broad limitations.

Yeah I used to think it was govt overreach but so many years later, I've seen time & again that when asked, the JP are 100% on board with all of the censorship & restrictions. In a lot of cases they even think there should be even more. I agree that the regulations are absurd and it would be better if they were removed but that's simply not the wish of the Japanese themselves. This is what they want and the only major group that wants it completely changed are outsiders/foreigners to Japan. Just saying.
