[Other Console] PS VITA game request

Not open for further replies.
There is currently no way to rip and dump Vita ISOs, so no. You can only play PSP/PSX/etc. games via CFW, but that's only if you're lucky enough to get the exploit in time (which is a PSP title on the PSN store--you have to put the CFW files in its save data folder after plugging your Vita to your computer). The Vita's CFW development is progressing extremely, extremely slow compared to the PSP, which was relatively easy to hack. Anyway, the fact that the PSV hasn't been fully exploited in so long is great for game developers like Otomate, who can release Vita-only titles and expect a more decent profit, I suppose.

I'm going to assume that PS Vita will not be hacked easily.
An unstable hack will probably be released, but nothing as good as the PSP's hack.
Who knows how good the PS Vita will do, only time will tell, as it's doing pretty bad now, but otome games never needed too much to work, so PSP games will still come out rather than Vita games, at least for now.
When this glorious free loading age will be over, I guess us foreign fans will be left in the dust, since we never had a way to buy the games outside of Japan anyway.

There are online stores like amiami and play-asia, which allows u to buy jpn games. Whether u can afford it is a different issue, though.

But srsly I've been buying some psp otoges for years and I don't live in Jpn. There is no gaijin block.

but if you're outside japan you can't buy from stores like 'skitdolce', which means NO TOKUTENS... orz

and play asia doesn't have all otome games, like ken ga kimi for example and other drama cds...

if someone knows a good store which sells otome stuff please OSHIETE!!!!

Well ...you have online shops that sell with tokutens ... I'm used to preorder my games at cd japan , but amiami does that too , and the tokutens are differents :)

Re:vice[D]
Norn 9 LAST ERA

I have a question

does anyone know how to buy from JP amazon ?

mine is us address

i tried preordering amnesia world but it said it cannot be shipped to the selected address

and if an item is not a new one (not Available ) how can i request new ones?

If you want to buy from amazon jp you need a japan address!
There are some companies that ships japan stuff to us. They act as the bridge between amazon jp and you! You do have to pay them a bit though...
what these companies do is buy the item for you and ship it to you.
so called 'japan buying service'
One of the most famous sites is tenso.com!
If the item is not available you can ask the certain site you are purchasing from if they are going to bring in anymore. amazon usually tells you when they do though;;

You actually don't need a proxy to buy stuff from Amazon.jp anymore. At least, you don't if you live in the U.S. or Canada. Amazon will ship it to North America (AFAIK) for a flat fee of ~1000 JPY or something.

It might not work in some cases... like I'm pretty sure Amazon won't ship games overseas for some stupid reason.

Basically, Amazon says that they can't, for whatever reason, ship CDs, DVDs and VHS tapes made in Japan. Games fall under this as well (I tried buying AMNESIA WORLD and got this stupid message). They don't even provide a reason for this. I don't get it, but we have to live with it. :/ At least figures aren't affected. So CDJapan (or AmiAmi, which has way better prices) is your best bet in this case.

If Amazon lifted this restriction, maybe piracy of Japanese games would go down slightly. Just maybe. After all, when most people go to buy stuff, Amazon is the first site to come to mind.

Or you can use some others than Amazon like: CD Japan<--My friend use's this site, and she say's its pretty good), AmiAmi or Surugaya...

Yes
we can buy some stuff from the jap amazon
i tried ordering 'ken ga kimi original sound tracks' and it worked!!

I wanted to buy Toma's novel but there isn't new product :(

And the only way to play PSV games is move to Japan and buy console... well, not so bad, I'll say

@Yonakayume : errr ... your quote in japanese says that they can ship anything only in cd, dvd , vhs sections as long as it is not adult stuff and that you have to know if the stuff you have ordered is allowed in your country.

Can't you buy the console from your own country? don't they sell it there ?

I didn't buy it yet but they sell it here fortunately.

cdJapan seems very good

did you try to buy from there?

i wanna hear some impressions about it...

I often buy games at cdJapan ( every month in fact )
It's a great website. You always have tokutens with games ( nice mini posters , drama cd etc ... ) and you earn points each order you do , so from time to time you even have free shipping. I highly recommand it.

CDJapan's point system is great! For each order you get points in worth of 3% (1% for books IIRC?) of the item price (w/o shipping) PLUS you get an extra 300/500/600 points for spending more than 5000/10,000/20,000 yen (again, w/o shipping). You get also get 300 points at the beginning of your birthday month. 1 point equals 1 yen, so like faery76 said it's possible to pay the shipping fees (or even the items themselves) with the points you earned.
Every now and then they also have special offers going on in which you can gain more points per purchase. Sometimes, there are sales as well making lots of things cheaper (I haven't seen many otome games being on sale yet, however I once did see the price for the limited editions of the TYB game series being dropped by, idk, 60%?).
As faery76 has already stated, CDJapan also has some exclusive tokutens (similar to Stellaworth and Animate, although not half as "fancy").
Another good thing about CDJ is that if there is only a limited amount of an item, it will tell you exactly how many copies are left.
Oh yeah, and unlike many other shops, CDJ actually lets you cancel your order as long as it hasn't been shipped!
If you're using Paypal as a payment method, you'll have to pay for everything in advance (of course you'll get a full refund in case of cancellation). If you're paying with your credit card, you won't be charged until they've shipped the item.
There is also the option to make a special request for items you can't find but want desperately. However, personally, I can't recommend it because it rather expensive. Take Hana Awase -Mizuchi Hen- as an example (because for some reason they have it as a Special Request item and as a normal item): The non-special request "edition" costs only 1400 yen which is the original price. The special request "edition" on the other hand costs 3370 yen. Like, wow, that's more than double the price! (also, you can only use EMS for special request items, and special requests cannot be cancelled.)
You won't encounter such prices when making requests for books, though (they have a special request site for books only). So if you're looking for a specific artbook, anthology or something else and can't find it, go request it on CDJ. Up until now they've granted all my book requests. (And unlike special requests, you won't have to buy it just because you request it. A few working days after you make your request, they'll simply mail you a link to said books, and from there you are free to ignore it or order it like any other item on their site.)

Buuuuut unfortunately, there are some not so good things about CDJ:
For one thing, the shipping is being calculated beforehand, and sometimes it's not really accurate. Like, I'm pretty sure that the Crystal Edition of IA/VT -COLORFUL- does not weigh mere 198g. That unfortunately also means that they might give you a heavier weight, thus overcharging the shipping price.
The other downside is they do not offer PC games at all. (Hana Awase is an exception because it's listed under the book section) If you are looking for PC games, I'd recommend AmiAmi.

tl;dr: let's sum it up:
Pro:
  • great point system
  • occassionally special offers and sales
  • shop exclusive tokuten
  • counter of how many copies are left (if there is no counter that means that there are still many copies in-stock)
  • lets you cancel your order
  • offers a special request service (although it's pricey)
  • offers a book request service (which is completely free of charge)

Contra:
  • sometimes questionable weight calculation --> higher shipping
  • no PC games

I actually wanted to write something about other online shops such as AmiAmi as well, but you've only asked about CDJ and that aside, I think I've written enough for now. ;)
If you have any questions or are confused by some of my statements (English isn't my first language so my wording might be weird), feel free to ask! :)

@Yonakayume : errr ... your quote in japanese says that they can ship anything only in cd, dvd , vhs sections as long as it is not adult stuff and that you have to know if the stuff you have ordered is allowed in your country.

That's essentially what I said... they'll ship anything that's not in the CD, DVD or VHS category. Sorry, I was confused there. I take it Amazon.jp will ship non-R18 CDs, DVDs and whatnot overseas but not videogames. Makes little sense to me. I wish they'd give us a reason instead of keeping it so vague.... because when I tried to order a PSP game in my first post, like I said, I got that message about CDs and stuff.

I meant home address not ur computer proxy....;;;;

I can't remember how it was before Amazon.jp massively reduced its overseas shipping prices (2013-2014) or if a lot of stuff could be shipped overseas without any problems, but nowadays I don't have to use a proxy to buy stuff like artbooks or figures from Amazon.jp anymore, provided that Amazon.jp is the seller. Anyway, Amazon.jp is useless for games unless you have a great proxy or if the game is massively discounted.

whut......?????? I don't understand wht ur talking about......;;;;;;;;;
If i summarize what I said before,
yes you don't need a proxy (which i never mentioned about;;) and yes you need a japan HOME ADDRESS if you want cds or dvds (like WHERE YOU LIVEEEEE)
amazon jp never needed a jp proxy to buy anything. ㅇㅂㅇ;;;;;;;;;;;;;????

Wow, that helped me alot! I'm very grateful. Thank you so much!

about amiami, I don't know why but it's blocked here (such a stupid country (*`皿´*) I don't wanna buy from there unless it's unblocked
but does amiami offer tokutens too?
