need help with installation

So the game I'm installing is [090626] [HAIKUO-SOFT] さくらさくら + OST + 特典ドラマCDx3

I've followed this

but I'm using PowerISO

So I first downloaded the .rar parts. Then I set locale to japanese. Then I extracted the .rars. The extraction produced a 3.04 GB .mdf file which I added to image file with PowerISO into an .iso When I try to autorun it, I only see the .mdf file inside.

Do I need another extraction or something? I also downloaded alcohol 120% to try to extract the .mdf but I'm lost on that.

Problems I have:
1. iso is container for mdf file, no setup exes or anything
2. the .rar size is 3.3gb but the extracted file is 3.04gb -> problem?
3. there was also a smaller .mds file that I don't know what is for
4. i'm dumb

If I'm reading this right you made an .iso out of an .mdf, both of which are disc image file types (it's like having a .zip inside an .rar). It's a given that you only see the .mdf inside, since that's what you made your .iso out of.

There's no need to make an .iso file when what you have is an .mdf. Just mount it directly (read this). I don't know if PowerISO supports .mdf files, but if it doesn't, just use another tool like Daemon Tools.

No; that much size difference is likely due to recovery record the uploader added to make corrupt archives repairable.

thanks for the information. I mounted the mdf file directly with alcohol 120% and it worked. stupid poweriso can't mount mdf files :\ fail
