3D HD Surround System? Next Gen gaming?

Well since this section haven't been kicked of yet, might as well do it since we've a increase amount of active member by day. So any of you guys heard about the 3D HD Surround System (I think that's what they call it) from nVidia. It is a style where you'll have three separate HD 3D capable monitor and Three SLi running g-cards and it brings out what they call Surround feeling when you look at your environments displayed on different screens which tries to recreate that vision human have (around 210 degree vision). What do you guys think?

I'm already happy with two screens, I don't need a third. ;)
And just like 3D screens it will not be properly supported by games for multiple years, so why bother. :p

Fair enough Coro, though surely there will be 3D supported game out by then. Actually I thought most of the game can be 3D supported anyway just through the graphics card itself nowadays?

Well, take a paper and draw on it - then fold it so you get a 3 dimensional drawing. While it is possible, it still looks like crap. :p

That is true, but maybe that is just a stepping stone to Virtual Reality (Hopefully possible during my life time)

kingarturia, I didn't think you get my point, oh well you won't :p . Should I tip you the new "hands-free" ILLUSION controller? mmm. It's must be water-proof, spill proof also, vibrate and warm. Get the idea?

I'm not a fan of multiple screens.

In fact I have a problem when using Big screens. for Console gaming, having a big screen is fine, but for PC gaming especially, i enjoy having a screen of maybe 22-24 inches. Anything too big and I'd have to sit too far back to see the whole screen.

For me, seeing the entire setup at once is pretty important so having 2 ++ screens isnt a major +.

However, the concept is interesting, since you can have that full "3d" effect.

I do think, do that the setup would be too much of a hassale if you really need 3 screens and full surround sound to be able to play a game.

Hmm...how about a closed dome-like screen(s). 360 degrees view.
Would great for flight sim.

As for virtual reality tech, I would like something like in the TV series Caprica.
If my memory serve me well, I believe it 's called Holoband.
Technically, you play in virtual world in your mind, which was transmitted from the Holoband into your mind. Though you'll become oblivious with the real world surrounding. Might not be a good idea to use it at public area.

That would be great innovation, if it exist now.

I think the current generation is not very well suited for 3D gaming, whilst movies are ok.

Mostly 3D for games is bad currently, I believe, because it is too expensive on PC(due to the hardware). For consoles, there is a worse resolution and textures if you play with 3D, which is a no-go for me since 3D is just a gimmik-effect. You do not really see more information nor can you really feel how far somethign is away from you. I think it may be well worth investing in a 3D screen/TV for 3D movies already though, if you are into it. Over the long run it should be cheaper than repeatedly paying the extra price for it in cinemas. And since the next generation of consoles is expected for either 2012/13 and they will definitely build on that, you will have your 3D apparatus prepared.
