It's one of those "Japan only" games with hard checks so just changing your local/UI/formats won't fool it.
Either run it on a fully japanese VM or use Locale Emulator.

I just tried with Locale Emulator and it didn't work too. :(

Nevermind, Locale Emulator worked! Just have to change the profile and check the setting 'Fake system UI language'
