Couldn't install on my WinXP, maybe it requires Win7/Vista (only setup.exe crashes, the game itself works fine)
Solution: unpack all .cab files from both disks into game folder, do not run it, crack it first. Works fine after that.

Guess I have to have two virtual japanese machines now - one with XP, and one with W7

To me look more like you're missing same runtimes required to run executables compiled with the latest versions of Visual Studio.
Be sure to install the runtimes vcredist2010 and 2012 in your XP.
Also recently there has been an increase of programs that require to install framework 3.5 and 4, so just install them.
There will be problems with framework 4.5 since they can't be installed in Xp; but it's also why that no one use it for now.

I usually use "visual novel reader" as its pretty much auto hook itself. But it failed for this game.
I usually get them from the agth wiki but since this is a new game. I doubt we'll get them so fast. I though of speed things up if anyone is helpful enough.

Hello! I have problem with the installation. I enter the correct key, and the download progresses till it's almost complete, but then i receive an error message of sorts.

I have more than ample disk space, and am completely befuddled by why this installation is blotching up.

This is the error:
ディスク インストールディスク１ を、C:\Users\Kurtis C. Young\Desktop\MMLにセットして、OKを押してください。

中止するとインストールそのものが中止されます。

If anyone could respond with some solutions, that would be great.
