Need help running Saimin Gakuen/催眠学園 from Black Rainbow

So I've been trying to run an old game from black rainbow called saimin gakuen on my windows 10 pc to no avail. I have applied all the necessary updates and patches without any success with no error whatsoever. I have also tried installing the game on my virtual windows xp and while it worked for other games, this particular game won't although it does give out a directdraw error in japanese but even after updating my directx in windows xp it still won't run. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Have you tried running the game in the XP VM but with the Japanese OS set. Might work

I remember trying a japanese XP back then for a different game with no success but I guess I could try it for this game

A few games are restricted to only work on a Japanese OS from my experience, though ntela might be a another work around.
Though you also said it was a direct draw error so it could just be old drives that you can't get anymore since XP is unsupported.
