"Authentication failed: unrecognized kernel32 module. / NM."

I recently downloaded a game from here and it extracted perfectly. But when I installed it I got this error,"Authentication failed: unrecognized kernel32 module. / NM." I don't know if I installed the game wrong but I would really like some help with this. I know there was a similar post to mine and it was recommended that you install this patch but that didn't work either.

Hi there, not sure if you have tried this or if it will work as it's not a guaranteed method, but you could try and download Win8WOH.zip from here. Then extract the file 'version.dll' into your game folder. Hopefully this method works for you!

If it doesn't work, do you mind telling me what game you're trying to play?
