Why should a DDR2 computer not be able to play 1080p?
And as usual the question which always comes with this pc building is: How much do you want to spend?

Moved to "Tech Support & Talk" section. Carry on as normal.

Oh, by the way my 8 year old laptop is a DDR2 mobo with a 2Ghz single processor. It's only got a 128 Nvidia on board graphics card. It plays 1080p just fine.

My PC is running on DDR2 too, and it can play MW3 decently.

    Re: 1080p issues

Blah. My previous PC can't play 1080p for some reason. :/
    It's specs was:
    P4 2.66 ghz
    RAM: 512mb
    VRAM: 128mb
But I think the problem is with my RAM (?).
What's a DDR2 mobo by the way? All I know is that RAM chips have those classes and mine was the oh-so-old SDRAM. :/
Blah, at least I'm using something else right now... for now anyway. :/
Still not sure if this PC will be given to me or not.

SDRAM?! My own first PC used SDRAM, and it was back in 2002.
Upgrade(changed the motherboard) to DDR in 2004.

Yeah, it's your player, not your hardware.

Go with Bartthew's suggestion and see what happens.

@japespszx A DDR2 mobo is a motherboard that only takes DDR2 ram, some motherboards may be backwards compatible with regular DDR ram and it is not compatible with DDR3 ram.

    Re: 1080p issues

my pc is quite old i tried to play 1080p before in bsplayer, medialayer classic & potplayer (quite good player, i just found it recently though) i have R$1500,00 (in dollars it is something like $1100,00) unfortunatly in Brazil eletronics and such are really expensive (almost double price in comparison with USA prices) but i might be able to ask a friend to bring the components for me (from USA, or Switzerland ) a friend is trying to convince me to buy his old I5 processor but i dont know if i should thats why i am thinking in building a new pc
