Hello,

I don't know whether this is Request or Suggestion. And I don't know whether this question has been already posted or not, as well.

The thing which I have question at this point:

There are Request forums (or, sub-forums). Uploader seems to response a request and post the requested material in download forum (Or, without relation of request, they post the stuff). Then, the request is fulfilled or satisified.
But in my (few) experiences, There doesn't seem to be notification post or similar thing in Request forum threads.

If requesting member or other people frequently check the download forums, they may know whether the request is satisfied or not.
But there are usually many posts in download forums, and on the other hand, the number of requests is not so many.

Is there any system that people know whether their request is satisified or not. (As I have experienced, it doesn't seem that there is such system).

If there is no such system, I think uploader, requester, or other some person had better to post a notification. (Or, if possible, other method such as prefix [replied] etc.)

-----
For instance:

HERE is the request to the certain artbook. And HERE is the upload of the stuff posted one month later.

But we can not see whether requested stuff has been posted or not from the request thread.

In artbook section, there are not so many posts, so not difficult to find the requested stuff is posted or not. (Also, there is search function).
But in the other sections?

I feel a bit question.

Well, I've made a few requests in the anime section, and haven't had a problem. Since I auto subscribe to threads I start or post in, it's easy for me to tell when a request thread has new posts for me to check out. Filled requests usually contain a link to the appropriate thread.

I can't speak for other sections.

Thank you for reply. And Yes. If it is the case, there are no problems.
And as I wrote, even though there is no notofication post in request thread, people can check the download forum(s), and additionally there is the search function.

Therefore, the current system of requests is possibly enough for use. (And sorry for annoying all of you).

That's okay Questions are a good way to learn.

And to be fair, it does help when someone filling a request mentions it in the request thread, like they do in the anime section.

I'm sorry for getting back a bit late to you.

Pertaining to your concerns:
Is there any system that people know whether their request is satisified or not. (As I have experienced, it doesn't seem that there is such system).
Unfortunately, it's technically unfeasible.

Therefore, the current system of requests is possibly enough for use. (And sorry for annoying all of you).
We aren't annoyed, and to be honest, I would prefer to get more ideas and opinions. We take feedbacks and opinions seriously and we try our best to improve the Project within our ability.

I'm not too sure about this since I'm not really active in that section of the forum, but one possible way could be for Uploaders to respond to the corresponding request thread once the request is fulfilled, with a link to their thread. Of course, that means that Uploaders have to go through the trouble of scrolling through the request section which isn't the most fun.

An automatic system which cross-checks both sections would be infeasible in my opinion though (aforementioned).

That is right. Not feasible as checkmate said.

In the certain forum where I have been a member and I have been familiar with the system of this forum, members reply to request post in the Request forum(s) (There are several Request forums, sub-forum). In this system, the upload info is posted as reply to the request in principle.

Here, AS, Request forum and Upload (Download) forum are separated. Request is posted in the Request forum, and upload (reply to request) is posted in the Download forum. So if there is no notification post which tells that request is fulfilled is posted in the request thread, requester cannot know it, but they should check download forum.

---

In the view point of programming, automatic notification system is possibly not feasible. But in the view point of forum rules and guidelines, adding guideline that someone (uploader or other member) should or had better to post notification to the request thread is feasible.

(For instance, "Do not do flame war" rule cannot be implemented as forum programme, but creating the rule "Do not do flame war" is feasible. Or, the program which automatically rejects registration of spamming person or spambot is feasible, but some spammers should be banned manually. Automatic banning system is infeasible as programme.)

Of course, it would be nice if uploaders could do that, but sometimes the request section contains too many threads and it would take a lot of time to sieve through them (there is always the search bar though). Then again, this being a community, users who spot matching request and upload threads can be kind and post a link. Small thought but could help :)

I actually wrote more than a paragraph of technical explanation how it would work but I delete it in the end since it was just TL;DR. So here it is:

It's actually possible, but it is with some amount of pattern analytics and change the way how a member would post their stuff, this date back to when we first draft the AS Project:

We had this template-like system that force members to fill in exactly what they are going to post in a very organized manner. The system will then try to analyze what they fill in and decide if a release belong to a certain universal "code" similar to a stock keeping unit (SKU), like getchu 231563 (interger SKU) or DLsite RJ213531. Effectively system will only display ONE game per page vs multiple (same) game thread like now.

The request system would then do the same, it forces users to input some required data then attempt to locate the game code internally, then it will match it with the list of available game code in its database.

Ultimately, we scrapped the system entirely because it was hard to use and understand and opt for a simple, tried-and-true solution that you're seeing right now. I did a lot of improvement for the backend search though.

Basically, it is impossible to implement such a system now without having dozens of volunteers at our hand.

And if we had those, they could just fill the requests for material that is already on the forum. For now all we can do is advise members to link inside requests to uploads that match them and then make a report, so we can close/move the thread.

I really like the way you do things with anime requests. When you fill them, you say so in the thread, and provide a link to the material. :)

If other request fillers did the same, I don't think there would be a problem.
