Anyway how does ones go about receiving one of these member title tag things?

You could wait 14 days or post in the discussions. There might be other ways but these are the ones i know of~

I think you've got to reach a certain number of posts... I mean, I just registered today but I've posted a lot and I noticed that I became a member instead of a junior member at about 40 posts.

Just wait and post for a few days. The minimum number I believe is 30 posts and 14 days.

If you mean the rank image - that gets added at 30 posts.

The user titles themselves change at 30 and then at 100 posts.

Wait..what?! You mean there's 2 levels to changes the title? I didn't know that. I thought it just need to post a certain amount, before you can change it. But at 30 and 100 posts? Is there some additional advantage once we reach 100 posts?

There's none - and since members can change their user titles anyway, the point is sorta moot anyway.
