The only game in the Zelda series where Ganon is not the enemy. Surprise! Instead, it's a completely new story in the Zelda series that tells how Link gets his green hat that he has worn throughout all the other games.

Starting out as a festival being held in Hyrule castle, a sword competition has been held to see which Hyrulean is the strongest and most skilled. The prize is a chance to look upon the legendary Picori sword, which has bound all monsters and evil into a wooden shrine. When the competition is over, the winner is summoned, suddenly taking his chance, the sorcerer casts a spell turning Princess Zelda to stone and breaking the Picori sword, releasing all the evil that it had kept sealed.

Now young Link must go on a quest to reforge the Picori sword, turn Princess Zelda back to normal, banish the monsters and other evil forces that have been released into Hyrule and defeat the evil sorcerer. With help from friends, Link sets out.....
