I think DLSITE blocks negative comments. Some of NTR games there are OK, while some are total shit.
My list DON'T BUY, EVEN DON'T PIRATE IT! Waste of your time.

https://www.dlsite.com/maniax/circle/profile/=/maker_id/RG43214.html (all their games)

Images on DLSITE may look really nice (which is misleading). "Gameplay" (or lack of it) is total disappointment.

Post your AVOID suggestions. Please, post useless, unconditional scam only. NOT game you don't like because of (disliked) other fetish or price or anything like that.

Japanese DLSite ratings are an excellent indicator of which games to avoid.

If anything is below 4.0, then it's worth taking precaution.
If anything is around 3.5 or below, then it's guaranteed to be rubbish and not even worth pirating.

Although I've seen a prior suggestion in these forums that NTR games get automatically downvoted, I can assure everyone that even if we assume there is such supposed bias, that would only be applicable across genres. Comparing NTR games would be subject to roughly the same bias, and hence at surface that argument doesn't even merit consideration.

I've seen plenty of games which I thought were great that are reflected by fan ratings. In the range of 4.2 or so, it's more subjective and I've seen my personal views and the audience at large have divergences at times...but, of course, said games in this range are not rubbish.

Can't remember 1 legitimately good game that was mass down voted on DLSite; I can say I'm skeptical about DMM based on a very limited sample size, but not DLSite (JP). Even for new releases, any ratings within the first 24 hours is usually indicative of the quality, though I allow more time to be safe.

As for actual games, the artwork in your 1st link mirrors a number of apparent cash grabs that I've seen on their site.

I've fortunately never bought any of them due to my general practice of only blindly purchasing games from well known circles (e.g. Mijiishi, Suzuya, etc.), but I can usually tell at a glance when another of these asset flips pops up.

JP ntr games don't get downvoted afaik, the notations are pretty accurate as a general quality measurement. Doesn't mean it will fit your tastes, but it wouldn't be shit for sure if the rating is good with lots of downloads.

I wouldn't say an "excellent indicator" because it does boil down to personal preference. I've played games that had 5 stars which I thought were terrible and I've also played games hovering around around 3.5-4 stars which I've really enjoyed.

Another thing you need to take into account for DLsite ratings is that newly released titles that appear on the ranking charts will almost always have inflated ratings until after like 2 weeks-1 month. I remember seeing many titles sit at 4.8/5 for the first week or so and then have it plummet down to a 4.3/5 which is a really significant dropoff.

My point is to give anything a try if something about that title interests you. Don't just let some star rating dissuade you.

Newly released games having inflated ratings isn't an issue since we're talking about filtering complete garbage from legitimate games. Games that are in the lower 4.x range should be the latter, while the former will very quickly indicate on DLSite JP that they are basic cash grabs.

I honestly don't recall ever seeing a game around 3.5 that I thought was falsely flagged, though I do think consumers tend to have weird expectations for ~100-200 yen games. If you happen to recall or willing and able to look them up, can you let me know those titles? I'm curious.

I can't recall most of the games because there were a ton that I played but if you remember years ago, back when the rating system used "smiley faces" instead of "stars", the ratings weren't as "generous" as they are now. You could attribute that to different things such as the smiley faces were more misleading than a out-of-5-star display or that the smileys didn't encourage "serious" ratings but these are just speculations.

Some of BANANA BLUE SOFT's games I really enjoyed involving the schoolgirl:

ALsoft back in the day was pretty popular, specifically these titles:

STREET FUCKER I really enjoyed back in the day: https://www.dlsite.com/maniax/work/=/product_id/RJ028198.html

Again, this is just my personal preference. Also, note when these games were released: a very long time ago.

Fair enough, thanks for sharing.

The preview images lend me to believe those games are ones I'd probably prefer to avoid, but tastes are subjective and not having played any of them, my statement can be taken at the value they deserve devoid of actual facts.

I suppose it's reasonable to conclude that the ratings are not authoritative, but at least a good factor to keep in mind.

Edit: I'll probably try out a few of those games at some point, if I can find downloads.

I really wish I would have had this list before I had bought a few of them. Not only are the games low effort, but it is usually filled with bugs as well.
