SUMMARY
This high-flying adventure begins when Pazu, an engineer's apprentice, finds a young girl, Sheeta, floating down from the sky wearing a glowing pendant. Which English dub is this? My favourite is the original one, which was released in the original Japanese dual audio DVD (not the Disney dub, nor the one in Miyazaki box sets). I've been so attached to that English version, for so many years, that it's the only one I want to watch...

I'm not quite sure which dub track was used for this and as there are no credits (The Japanese BD offered branched chaptering, meaning they would have had to splice the credits back in - for both then English and Japanese version. Makes sense they didn't do it.), I'm also not able to verify it for you.
I think it's the Miyazaki box set track (based on the Wikipedia description), but am not sure at all.

The English dub isn't the original one, that aired on UK TV in the 1980s and 90s - it's either from the Miyazaki boxset, or is the Disney one.

Helloo.... Sorry to ask but I wanted to know if Thora ever have released for Multi-Audio tracks before? Reason I'm asking... well, cause am looking for the Cantonese track. I know the audio section already mentioned in the #1 post but I just want to be sure. I found that Coalgirls & CHD have the Cantonese track but I kinda have doubts & worse, I dunno about CHD. Lastly, this Laputa, Coalgirls Vs Thora, which better? I need enlightment in this. Thanks! ;):redface:

THORA has the better encode, but no Cantonese audio track. They never released a multi-audio version of this either.

Btw... now that I have the mkvtoolnix... if I want to add the cantonese audio into thora file... will the thora file video quality become bad? I mean will it be ummm... much worse or no changes at all?

The video stream won't change. You may have to add a small offset (somewhere around 50ms) to synchronize things, but that's for you to experiment with.

Don't really get it. Why need to add small offset when most audio tracks should be syn without problem? I mean since just to add another audio track.. need to do that offset? n if so, the audio track or the video track?

Different filters used to encode the video stream can cause a one to three frame difference - that's why you might need an offset. That is, if you notice the difference anyway.
Oh, and you should change the offset for the new audio stream, as everything else should already be synched with each other.

mmm... I'll try to follow what you're guiding me... although I still don't get quite of it... ;)
However, need an offset as u said, in the mkvtoolnix, it put to 'delay' or 'stretch'? Also, I might just need Thora's subtitles only, so does that mean I still need to do offset as well?... since I got a better encode version...:8
PS: I'm also looking for the cantonese audio track file for the 'My neighbors the yamadas.' Do you know where I can download the file? perhaps I can insert it with the software. thx :D

I neither store, nor (re-)upload versions deemed inferior unless there's some proof that they are better after all. Filesize isn't really an argument - just get the 720p if this one is too big for you.
