  • I read your thread here about decompressing a password protected noa file and now I want to ask if you know how to compress the pictures back so that the game works with the new noa. Reason is I'm working on a German translation and it would be grate if I could edit the pictures too :D I already extracted and converted the pictures but at some point I'm making a mistake at the conversion from bmp back to eri all the times or at the creation of the noa archive -_- You can find out more about my problem in the thread if you were able to compress them back :) If not, I'm sry that I took your time :D
    That's nice!
You got an about 45 days vacation? That sounds good! You can spend your time to what you want to do.
Summer vacation started in my country too, but it don't effect on me at all.
It's a little difficult for me to understand your English because I'm not good at English. I know you write right English(I asked native English speaker). I want to become friendly with you. If I gave you a wrong idea, I'm sorry. It's because of my lack of English ability.
    Hello, pingy!
How are you? I'm very fine, yay yay!
Did something good happen in these days?
I couldn't really make a comment about their cup sizes in the picture (well Lisa's is a bit obvious with that uniform). I suppose it was in the way Luluna asked for that Semyon that made you laugh? I might need more explanation on the "Her ransom is her freedom" line, though I think I understand her nickname:D Regarding Ema, nothing like family to explain one's circumstances. The opposite of the small framed, quiet and obedient masochist is the bully.:p Some say the rose's beauty is exceptional in that it hides a bite behind it's beauty. And nothing can beat an imouto with a brother complex! Unless she's tsundere and then it's even better.

Happy moments become more special when you've tasted depression, that is what I believe. By heavy fiction, are you talking about heavy drama, by any chance? With so much suffering from the characters.

Going to leave this here since I found the way you used the euphemism 'Semyon' amusing. If we are to use it anyway, I might as well introduce you to Semyon Farada, renowned stage actor. Moustaches are considered sexy by some people so it goes with the theme!
Haha, I was going to mention Girls und Panzer early on our conversations, somehow it just slipped from my mind. And the commander of each unit takes information from dispatch I imagine and coordinates with the other units via radio. Being a driver has to be hard, I mean it's not road you're gonna be driving in everytime, right?

Depends on what comes on I guess. I just consider myself lucky the current shows catch my interest. You don't watch much anime then, I assume?

That would be really hard. The global population's only growing bigger, despite the situation in some developed countries.

On a more serious note, it's never easy to deal with loss, whether its an acquaintance or a family member. It might help to talk about it though.

What I like best about those 'speech checks' in the games you mentioned is that they illuminate points in the plot(sometimes) and they demonstrate the skill of the writers in matters concerning dialogue. Sometimes I put a lot of points in the speech skill to see if I can discover an alternate strategy to finish a quest without stepping on a lot of toes. And then there are the characters/villains who deserve being knocked off (I'm talking about those doublecrossing finks who thought they could pull one on me.) But when the credits roll, I relish the feeling in knowing my choices helped shape that ending.

What's wrong with the NA servers?
Those screencaps are from WoT? And I'm acquainted with some people with those surnames but I've never thought of pointing it out to them, yet.:D
Unrelated question; Are the only passengers in the tank the driver and the gunner?

Dystopian societies are a paradise for some. If you've ever heard of Murphy's Law, the dystopia is usually the product of all the things that could go wrong in a society. For me it's an example of the saying 'The road to hell is paved with good intentions'. Some people usually like twisted stuff like that, take me for example:D

Mind Squall flowed well through my head while I was reading your summary, that was really harmonic so thanks for putting that there. It sure would be worth it to go through Lisa's route for the whole experience though. Especially since I'm curious about Fiona's influence on Lisa and how Takahiro answered when he confessed.

That graphic.. I think I have enough MMO experience to identify Christmas event decorations when I see them. A hangar, and that picture connected to the ceiling, this is WoP this time then?

Light-colored hair, ribbons and flowing hairstyles. Yes, I definitely can see the similiarities.:D Did you like their routes as well?
I could swear I posted a reply already. Turns out I haven't done so yet. Sorry about that!

Religion really helps in building good morals for young children. I might have not understood why such virtues were preached when I first learned about it, but it made sense when I grew older. For that I was grateful. Also did you know religious institutes were among the first to develop into learning centers? And this might come from an outsider's point of view, but I have a lot of respect for Buddhism's tenets. Truth in understanding, never in blind faith.

I can seriously call that talent.;)

Already had something good written about Kusomiso and Jigoku but I'll try to remember how I wrote it now..
The strong emotions in Jigoku and the situation they were in contributed heavily to the humor. And yes, I finally found out the dynamite's location:p And no thank you but I will have to pass on the English version of both videos. No way a poorly executed dub can mimic the enemy soldier's 'Come on!' in Jigoku or the 'Did you mistake me for a vacuum car (septic tank truck)!?' from Kusomiso.

There's already a spoiler in kusomiso's title though, unlike in Jigoku where I had to ask myself, "No way, really?! You're planning on doing that?"
And yes, I totally agree with you when you mentioned preparing for an activity, whether it's a warm-up before a sports game, or foreplay before intercourse.
Over email.. I would be all formal, following the proper protocols, with the parts of the letter and all. On a maybe unrelated note, my class once did an activity which we did via chat. This was on a holiday so everyone was home at the time. My classmates later told me that I was more animated in chat than when I was in class. So I think I'm more comfortable interacting through the keyboard:)

Now I understand what you mean by 'paper plane'. That naming sounds cool though, with innovation beneath simplicity.

I place the word 'reality' in the same category as 'normal', we all have our own perception regarding these things. Some people describe reality as cruel, some think it needs to be more hardcore, hence we have fiction.:p

While I agree that experiencing something yourself is the best thing you can do for yourself, I'm afraid there are several factors that are preventing me from enjoying Walroma at the moment. So I think it's best to hear about Lisa Eostre and her route from you right now.

I respect people who can point out what they don't like in their hobby. In fact, I appreciate talking about things we commonly enjoy. We play these games, read manga, watch anime etc. because it means something to us, they make us feel something special, something we value above the average. I have my own definition of what feels good, what feels wrong, and I expect you to have your own. That's cool.
And we don't really need to go technical about it anyway. You don't need to know the language of flowers to appreciate them, right?

tl;dr, I'd like to hear how you feel about certain titles/characters/design etc. I'll throw in some of mine from time to time as well.
That's cool then. I feel a bit uncomfortable when people make references and I fail to understand them immediately. And I think now I know which table you meant. I don't really understand what you mean when you said Buddhism had something to do with your case? Can you elaborate? I don't really believe in formal religion, but if people irl ask me which group I belong to, I say 'I'm with those guys united under the torture device." :p

If first tries worked all the time, it either involved a lot of luck or talent from the person involved. Good for you getting it on the second try. I hope those essays weren't last-minute as well.:p Because last-minute projects never work for me. But then its because I rarely check my work when I finish it. If I don't get docked down for technicalities, I mess up the idea flow with a rant..

Yeah, that meme cracks me up as well. Yamajun has a way with facial expressions that are exaggerated in a way that it inspires humor. I've never read any of his works though, just basing my opinion on images. Which work was the yaranaika meme lifted from? Was the exaggerated sexuality meant to be humor from the start?

Sexual jokes. In media. Yeah, one day we're going to go in-detail on that topic. It's funny because they're true and also because not everyone is comfortable talking about it in public :D
No one likes backstabs. It's a little different if you've never experienced one though. In my case though, I had trouble sociallizing because of my failure to connect with people. I push my expectations upon someone, I fail their expectations of me, disappointment for everyone..

By negative response, you mean open hostility? Criticism? Petty/mean remarks? Sadly, you can't get along with everyone. Why, I got rejected last week and I wasn't even trying to flirt! fml

WW2 was very interesting. I'm saying this from the point of view of a person who has never experienced large-scale war in his entire life. Also whether we're talking about technical details or social phenomenon, a good theory is always appreciated. Also I'm curious on learning new things. You'd have to excuse some noob questions though.
So fighter planes are those outfitted with air-to-air combat weaponry, sometimes with bombs(correct me if I'm wrong) and their utility lies in their speed and maneuverability. You said it yourself that the jet engines could use some improvement. What flaws did the early jet engines have back in the 40s?

    She's a favorite then?
That heroine count sounds low to me:P Unless their routes were well-written, which sounds like it from your descriptions. Then that's ok. And if this genius Lisa Eostre is someone who is too proud to rely on others, that's a double win!
It's not surprising then, that opponents of the entertainment industry use the learning theory where juveniles/young adults emulate behavior they commonly observe in the mass media. I believe there are a lot of factors that contribute to real life sexual assaults/crimes in general and pointing the finger of blame at the largest target(the entertainment industry) is not the smartest thing to do. And if you were making a clothed reference with the clothed table remark I'm afraid it zoomed past my head.

Yes, it is widely assumed that writing and speaking a language is the same. When I write, it helps that I cannot see my audience directly, face to face. I don't have to worry that my voice is barely audible, or that I'm having trouble pronouncing something. Both mediums of communication require proper idea flow in formal settings though (writing an essay or giving a speech)

Home sweet home. Being world-class doesn't have to agree with country-hopping all of the time. That's what the internet is for:P
Hmm, humor for me highly depends on the situation. Or delivery. Sure I'd get a few chuckles from that chicken joke when you present it like that but if you wrap it with a scenario involving Colonel Sanders and the JLPT, then we can go into business. Seriously though, don't underestimate wordplay. Dajare might be the only type of pun I appreciate, unless the delivery sucks. How do you appreciate humor? I'd throw something like 'there isn't a single person who doesn't appreciate a good joke' but we all know that isn't true and rather play it safe before I start tickling you.
I can tell that school life wasn't exactly sunshine and flowers for you. Well, high school anyway. Did it have a significant influence on your present life? School doesn't really work out for everyone after all.

Society's standards suck. I'll assert that with so much vehemence it might come off as a rant but I will refrain from doing that, at least for now. Were the things you mentioned your quirks? I'm sure we all have them and that's what makes the concept of 'being normal' obscure like you said. That line about being reluctant to approach someone in a dire time of need also interests me. Could you be basing that statement from a personal experience?

:D Mmm, I kinda noticed that the planes were interposed into the original image but it was amusing all the same. Just for reference though, what type of aircraft were they? Oh and just noticed that the same girl appears in your avatar! Not sure about the plane though..
Of course. I was trying to say something funny about how technology develops so fast in our generation.I myself place great trust in physical storage media(hard disks, optical disks, flash memory and such) mainly because I think that in the event that of environmental, social, economic and structural collapse, we won't exactly have a reliable internet.

I like the way you refer to it as a 'little dark hobby':p Gives an elite feel to the activity..

I was aware that Gundam goes way back and has established years of canon literature, but it certainly takes a more impressive stance when you mention it as history. I could appreciate a little background on the Gundam universe, if you can spare the time and effort. I imagine it's also one of the strong points the franchise has, being able to give birth to lots of media.

Language then.:D I grew up surrounded by English media ranging from periodicals to nursery rhyme sing along tapes and I guess that's how I began learning it. Kinda funny that now I'm doing the same with the Japanese language. Immersion, immersion. Then work up the courage to chat it up. My mastery of my native language could do with some extra work though. And effort on my part.

Still, hats off to you and to multilinguism! What did learning another language teach you about life?
Human relationships, like the basic model of communication, requires two different entities which must interact with each other(not necessarily at the same time) for it to be called a relationship. Whether someone 'gets along' with someone else or not, a relationship still exists. Its cause and effect. My point is, a person can still harm me without inflicting physical harm on me. Maybe I start doing dangerous stunts to make that person notice me or I inflict harm upon myself based on the notion that I do not measure up to my standard of how people should think of me. Its not much about how much you participate in relationships as much as how other people affect you. That's how I interpret what you said about relationships being a potential risk to life.
Personally, I prefer having lots and lots of personal space between me and other people and they might think I'm strange for that but then I begin to ask what 'normal' is and then we leave it at that. What does the terms 'normal'and 'majority' imply? Biological systems? Most of us have the complete set. Ability to hold up a casual and fun conversation that somehow doesn't involve the weather? I'm sorry but I can't do that:p What does 'normal' mean to you, personally?

    :XD:
That image strangely reminds me of Kankore. It looks like something from Walroma, judging from the skirts and style but I'm the type to mess up spats with biking shorts so I could be wrong..
You say it like DVD disks are a thing of the past.:D Wait, have I missed out on the latest innovations, without being aware of it?!:ohnoes:

So which is it exactly?:3 Was it for the better or worse?

Sweet, a Gundam fan. I'm not that much into Gundam exactly but I'm interested in the mecha genre. The collectibles (action figures, plastic models etc.) related to the franchise amazes me with its range. That statue at Odaiba might not be for personal collection, but still.. Wow. What makes the Gundam series exceptional for you?

Hmm not actually into statistical science because of the numbers myself but I was trying to think of a good analogy at the time.:D If I had a favorite field in science, that would be biology. Let's see, concerning putting different people in an an enclose environment is like putting praying mantes in a single container. Biology can be disgusting at times.. Did you have a subject in school that you enjoyed learning?
So it was a sense of dislike associated with unfavorable experiences. Well in some cases formal education doesn't work out with everyone, and I'm not just talking about the educational systems (every region has their own problems with these) but with the institution itself. Sometimes its like putting nitrogen monoxide and carbon disulfide in a jar and lighting a match over the mixture. Not a very good analogy, but I hope you get what I mean:p And for the record, I find Steve Aoki to be too flamboyant. I start thinking of the overcompensation theory..
Me, I don't really believe in the level of importance people put in getting along with others and that there should always be a level of distance between people. And since we're talking about social structures, there's no avoiding hierarchy. Even if if there's really no need for strict superior-subordinate practice, you'll find that the outgoing personalities usually have some control over popular opinion.
Hey we're in the same age group!:D So do you have any game titles which you can say started your interest in games?

I believe there's no such thing as absolute predictability. Even equations get thrown off by unpredicted variables.:p I just hope we humans make the most of our potential, which is growth. Not just in the physical sense.

Sometimes new routes make all-age versions worth it. There is the lack of burning love which I find disappointing at times, if you know what I mean ;D but yeah, appreciation for those with secondary roles/extra content! You can also talk about them with people uncomfortable with burning love, just don't pull out the 18+ version.. I believe that as long as the title has a profound and moving plot it usually translates well into anime. Ah yes, the ToHeart series will always have a place in the gaming hall of fame along with Clannad and School Days:p. I'm not to familiar with otoboku, although I'm aware its almost as old as the earlier mentioned titles. Walroma looked too flashy for my taste so I also don't know much about it. Ecchi scenes are usually best enjoyed in a first-person perspective. There is such a thing as too much fanservice:D Have you ever tried playing a game that was based on anime/written literature though? The hype might be a turnoff for some of us but they're not bad in general. I'm really, really particular about character design and illustrator style.
That confession now requires you to tell me about the age group you belong to:P

My confusion extends beyond today's youth I fear. For example, there's a rising(?) concern for the environment, with Earth Hour being practiced(?) every April and panic over weather disturbances in general but I still see irresponsible use of our natural resources. Or history's tendency to repeat itself again and again due to different beliefs.

Well RPGs aside, I feel the most comfortable with playing VNs in my pc (because they're mostly eroge) and I don't really plan on touching those titles that are ported to consoles and made to cater to all ages. On the other hand, I have tried and liked a few games that were inspired by anime series, if only because the voice acting was exceptional.

I was really asking about your feelings regarding game pieces, but apathy is between being emotionally involved and hating something.I assume you must have had some bad experiences with normal music? And by normal do you mean pop/rock/classic/techno? Also I think I can understand what your music teacher meant where a tune or melody reverberates in your head, sticks in there for a while until my short attention span switches to something else, an amusing anecdote perhaps.
That made me think of the American stereotype in Japanese culture.:p The ones that go 'Oh my god' and drop the f-bomb in their lines. But yeah, I've noticed that using english curse words have become a fad. Courtesy of hollywood, methinks. Not sure about toxicity though. What makes a forum toxic? When it turns away the newbies? When every post is filled with venom and disregard for human decency?

If kids can learn how to express themselves properly while respecting others, the internet would indeed be a different place. The internet and it's masks are perfect for experimentation though, so it all comes down to empathy..

I understand where you're coming from with Steam. The net is creeping slowly into everything though. Almost all my software needs an update by the month. The hardware, not so much.

I'm one of those types to hit the load button when things start to get ugly, so I'm a bit cautious about experimenting myself. All those work in levelling your character just to realize it doesn't click with your style? Yep it makes me think twice. But when you hit it, like finding the shoe that fits. That is heaven.

Don't take my word for it, but it really sounds like you're putting yourself down with that limit. For me it's all about the feeling. What do you feel when listening to your favorite BGM tracks?
At times jumping blindly into a game can be exciting:D Until you get frustrated by lack of progress because of some mechanic. I guess slipping depends on how you feel about it? There's the 'Interesting, I get it now, let's try again!' and the 'That was disappointing. The mentioned tank build was really a brick build with that slow movement speed and blocky moves.' But then the latter would fall into game design. Explain too much in the tutorial and it would turn into spoonfeeding. On the other hand, expecting the player to 'eventually figure it out by themselves' without guiding them is poor design.

Sometimes I like to think of the internet as the cheat sheet written by everyone:3

You might admit to not showing interest in music but you sure know a lot about it:D Well, some might believe that being a music lover means you can create good music yourself but I think you can just have a good ear for notable pieces. Kinda like how I don't expect manga readers to have exceptional drawing skills or anime lovers to write award-winning literary pieces. Everyone's got a creative outlet somewhere and it isn't so bad to appreciate something.
That's pretty harsh. Clan policies concerning in-game behavior(common netiquette) are okay, but sometimes you get those people who force their preferences onto others. I prefer text chat over VoIP myself, as I have delicate auditory perception. If I'm going to hear talking it might as well be refined and preferably done by a professional. Lately lots of gamers have taken to swearing over the littlest things. Game forums are not so bad, as long as everyone knows their roles. There was this one game forum where the developers have adopted a 'need to know' policy. Basically they kept their mouths closed over changes in mechanics, content, etc. So anyway, the users took it upon themselves to hold discussions over how the game should be developed, questioning every decision the devs would make.In the end, it wasn't the questioning and discussions that I disagreed on, it was the way they did it. No one wanted to listen, because they placed their opinions above everyone else so it was chaos. Well everyone was at fault I guess. What makes a good community anyway?

Being forced online to play singleplayer in a 'you should always be connected to the net to be able to play' sense?

I finally ran into the character limit.:p
Lack of teamwork in randoms.. You have a good point there. It really is hard to find a good team when we know that the number one priority is looking out for yourself. Kind of like how you can't really get a good ball team if you just pick people passing by on the street. Once they decide they need to be on their way, you lose a member. Could you be referring to that? Guilds/clans can help starting players and foster good communal relationships, which works well until you realize some people consider groups to infringe on their individuality.

I think that it's also possible to have good friends in the net, almost as good as the ones irl but the rules are different anyway so change tactics as well:D

Well, as things stand now, I think gaming is still making its way from an individual point of view where you complete the campaign by yourself to the multiplayer point of view, where you enjoy it with your friends. And then there's the issue of video games being a new form of sport with tournaments and such. Gives incentives for team play and online ego building, haha.

Your concept of min-maxing seems to stem from bad experience. I personally haven't played any of the Diablo titles so I can't really comment on them, but I'm intrigued by your opinion on character/gameplay builds. I know of the ones exploiting game mechanics and the 'hipster' ones where underrated weapons/gear are used to their optimal utility. Does the random building you mentioned fall into either of these categories?

I take it your favorite musical genre is game music. I've also heard of your preferred artists but what do you think about groups/bands? Does you liking for music extend beyond that specific genre?
