  • I love all the Rens too, I expect Kouen will be a ruthless bastard but NO he's so adorable I want to squeeze him XD
Just kill that evil woman please... I raged when she touch Kouen =_=
The newest chapters is funny too rofl
Wha  isn't that hard making a kimono? Are you from Japan?

Simple is good too right? Don't feel like that, the important thing is the result ^^ it is pretty...
Me too, I'm just messing with brush and layers not even add some text except anime-sharing SOTM I'm bad with typography orz

I mean my grinning gif siggy, my avatar is correct it's Enma Ai the hell girl I really love her ehehe ^^
Non, mademoiselle. C'est bien. Hmm, "despise" isn't a particularly tricky word―were you mixing it up with "despite"? Either way, hope you did well for the rest. Mere misspelling shouldn't deduct your score too much... hopefully. So you're a science person and totally not learning stuff like economics, sociology and the like? Actually, though, I wanted to get into information systems in uni (which requires a science basis), so I studied the science subjects during my last year of high school... but I still failed, orz. Liberal arts turned out to be quite cool too, though. And well, the exam being on Friday translates to more satisfaction when the day's over and you're approaching Saturday, non?

I've been good... lots of slacking, though. Was supposed to get some work earlier done this week, but the week's almost over and I still haven't gotten it done. orz

Well, yes. I don't think a real girl would deign to put something like that as her signature except for the sole sake of playing tricks with reverse-psychology, inciting others into thinking that she's a guy masquerading as a girl. But the previous sentence seems too roundabout to make a very simple statement, so once again, yes, I am. :3 But I have, indeed, been mistaken as a girl more often than just once or twice on the internet. And I don't even use girly emotes like the ones you use. So that signature is more or less a joking attestation to that.
    No problem :runhappy:
I love Magi so much, all the chara is loveable and cute too... XD
Yap, I love kimono in every way ^^
    Thank you very much :blushing:
I love your entries the most too, white winter... it looks like you put much efforts on it.
The truth is I've been stalking to your siggy... because i love them hehehe
I see you have a new set too, kuroko no basuke?
*sorry for my broken english orz
My siggy and avatar now is not a set though I don't know what anime my siggy from ^^
    Hey Leia~

Nah, nah. Don't worry about it. I can sometimes take over a month to reply too. Well, good luck on your English exam, then! (I hope you won't write like you do on the 'net there!) Chemistry and physics, huh―glad I got into the social studies programme (as opposed to science) in high school. So it's exam season now, huh? Well, Christmas's getting near and all that. And really, don't worry about it, concentrate on your finals first~

P.S.: My signature is incorrect, of course. :3 Not sure how you'd consider it ironic.
    It's kyougoku from MAGI right?
    She's really cute tsundere lol
Mine is a character from Amnesia, use it because I love kimono.. :runhappy:
I love you siggy too, you do great job with it... XD
Ah, but the compliments are well deserved. Nothing is more immediate and poignant as a good picture. It makes me wish I had some talent with PS and/or drawing. And lol, you can call me whatever you please. Some users here call me kc for reasons still unknown to me >_>...
I also didn't mean to pressure you or anything so take your time :3
Glad you like it. Are the words there legible? When it was still a prototype, a staff member was trying to read it though he missed some words, so I guess I succeeded in making it not very legible, teehee. And no, I would hate doing a lazy man's work for a new skin, lol.

Well, we're even, then. No need to apologise over that either, because I suppose everyone has Life™ after all.

Haha, was that guy fond of, say, using emoticons such as ;w; or c: and the like that are more often used by girls? And yes, that's correct. To be honest, I was a bit surprised the first time I saw how often C4D renders were used freely by signature makers. I mean, C4D is a field that casual designers usually stay out of. If you're an abstract artist, do 3D modelling or deal with CAD stuff, maybe. But if you're just an everyday designer whose only tool of trade is Photoshop, well, I'd say that's rather peculiar. The problem, as with all kinds of stock graphics, is as you described: if you have a good feel in mixing and matching elements, you can do good with them. Otherwise, unlikely. And no, I've made some crappy C4D-laden signatures myself that I'd rather not see again orz. I stopped using them pretty early, lol.

Nope, having opinions is all well and good, so I welcome that. As about your stuff, well, your SOTM-winning signature looks nice and harmonious, so I don't have much to add. If I had to, though, I'd say that maybe you could improve the typography: since the face of the character stands out very well, it's easily the most dominant focal point within the entire image. And the basic concept of typography, I believe, is to avoid distracting already-existing focal points with (most basically) the placement of the text. It's nice that you placed the text in an empty area so as to avoid making it look messy; I just think it kinda tries (and fails) to compete with the face as the focal point. Just my two cents, of course.
I tend to think so as well, which is one of the contributing factors to why I stopped bothering with anime. I've heard some friends say this anime is good and actually has a solid plot behind excessive fanservice, but I always reply: well, if the plot is really well written, does it really NEED all that fanservice? Can't a writer/director maintain a good story without adding elements such as fanservice to keep people 'glued' to the developments of the story? I believe a good writer doesn't need to unnecessarily expose the skin of their characters to maintain the solidity of their story.

To be fair, I think most people do like sweet things. I've only met a handful of people who actually dislike eating sweet things, but most of them are elders, which I can understand. And eh, just because I look so composed in my writing doesn't mean I never go crazy over stuff either! For example, I like a fair amount of (mostly visual novel) illustrators and I tend to fangirl over them. I particularly like their fashion sense. And really, I don't even speak English much anywhere outside the Internet, lol. Also, your daughter? Huuuuuh? And yes, I'm happy with our team, we're pretty close~

Well you have it on your page! My teachers said so too when I was about to graduate from high school. I think it's just a ruse, something teachers just say to their students regardless of what they actually think. And no, I'm past twenty ;_; I'm flattered <3 I like harmony, yeah (though I'm not always able to make harmonious looks in my works orz). I agree with you (yeah, I understand what you say)―though I wouldn't really say the opposite is bad either. There's beauty to be had in blending everything nicely and making everything harmonious as well as making a certain focus stand out. It's a bit like photography; sometimes you need to make certain focal points stand out, though with signatures it usually has more to do with colours and composition rather than blurring and such.
Haha happened to me as well..Only difference is that I still had a much lower score.. :forsaken:
Yea but I guess you got 2 more votes! Which is understandable ^^

I'll win! ..(eventually.. :sowwy:).. But I join for the fun anyway. I learn more stuff every time I make a new entry so it's all good ^^ And a place in the Hall of Fame isn't all that bad either :3

See? I did join, I have my entry posted ^^ Now you have to join as well! o.o
Hope you can find the time do make an entry as we need more entries. Last time there were 4 entries on the same day. And now there's only 2 D:
Some more will probably join as there's a whole month to make it ^^

    Thanks~
Yea Lots of fun entries, will have a hard time voting as well :o
[cont.] Ha. The message got too long. See, I told you not to worry about talking too much, because I sometimes do too. orz
Also, I tend to reply late at times, so let me apologise in advance when/if I do.

Yeah, you're right. Girls also tend to use more... emotional (?) colours, such as sepia tones. Use of typography also often differs quite distinctively. This is the part where I think most girl designers are better than guys. As for the use of C4Ds, though, I think it's a bad trend. There's a trend that's quite popular among amateur graphics designers around DeviantArt (which then spread to online forums, though I dunno where it originally originated from), which incorporates C4D renders and abstract wireframe art into signature images, but I think they look bad most of the time. I admit I myself succumbed to using random C4D and wireframe renders when I was a beginner myself, but then I thought all those stuff looked messy and stopped using them. They tend to ruin harmony (especially since―not to sound elitist―many people seem to just lump C4D renders onto backgrounds/anime renders and don't even try to blend them when even the colours contrast each other), which is a basic concept in design.

I tend to criticise just about anything (I have a tendency to nitpick, yes), though not much goes out of my mouth since 1) giving off vibes of being lecturing and/or elitist is bad and 2) it's very rude to mouth off someone's work when not asked to. Therefore, I tend to just give my appreciations, and only give advices when asked.
    Aaaaaaaand the loop continues unabated~

I see what you mean, though for what it's worth anime is totally serious business to many. Like, there's a fair mount of serious anime. Also, having met various people with various backgrounds, I learn that tastes and characteristics are often totally parallel. That is, just because someone appears all serious on the outside, they don't have to necessarily dislike fun, light-hearted stuff and only like serious stuff. I'm a living proof. You think I look all serious and sophisticated? I actually like a wide array of cute things and have a sweet tooth. (I consider your remarks compliments, by the way, so thanks~ Though, to be honest, English isn't even my first language.) And no, I've never met the others in real life, lol. As for Hanazawa, I do like her voice talent, I suppose, and as far as I've seen she's quite an amusing person.

Didn't mean that to imply adolescence or something, but sixteen IS young! You consider yourself not young anymore? Wait until you turn twenty! lol. Awesome signatures, like which ones? Oooh oooh, have you been stalking me? I don't think I've made anything decent in a while, so I suppose you're referring to my older stuff (which, by the way, I don't consider particularly awesome either)? That blank set was a lazily designed piece, lol. I was actually going to use that (not the silhouette but the full-coloured version) as the forum banner, but it didn't blend well, so I scrapped it and made what is now the banner you see instead. Which I think looks better, if I do say so myself. Also pretty... romantic. And yes, a lot of 2D character images (rendered or not) are just very unlikely to imitate in real life, even if it's just the pose or expression. For example, people don't normally smile with a ^_^ kind of face in real life or tilt their body by 30 degrees just to look cute. [cont.]
Hey, I noticed your SOTM#20 on the front page notification and was quite impressed. The washed out, yet somehow vibrant colors instantly caught my eye and I couldn't help but wonder who was behind the piece. I just wanted to drop by to congratulate you. Hope I'll get to see more entries.
Haha I know that feeling, happened to me a few times too...:deadsad: I luckily passed those but still it's quite frustrating when you forget everything you spent so much time on D:

Yea it's funny really :3 I checked the votes yesterday and we were even with 4 votes each for one entry. Someone voted you at the very list moment :3
I was so close! But I like some healthy rivalry. Makes people do even better for the next time ^^
You should join! The more, the merrier. If you're joining.. I'm not joining D: I won't win with you as a participant :runaway:

Just kidding, of course I'll join. I love SOTM contests and winter :3
Looking forward seeing your entry if you do join! Also, don't forget to vote for your favorite entry in SOTM 21 :3
