Hi, I got an "assemble error" and "scenario cannot be loaded" error after pressing start in the main menu. Anyone had success running this VN?

Could be a problem similar to Duel Savior
Might be easily solved by trying to run the game using Linux Wine

This is harder to figure out than I thought.
The game loads but no matter what I do, after clicking Start it ends up in these two error messages:
アセンブルエラー
シナリオがロードできません
I sure could use more verbosity lol, at least specify a missing file or something.

Though what's interesting is that despite fully running on Japanese locale, some characters still appear broken - which is pretty weird.

There's potential to have easily gotten through this trouble by running it through Wine in Linux but I'll have trouble figuring out how to make it detect the Disk 2 lol, blunder of old games requiring it to be present to run.

In any case, here's some other info that I got so far:
It says that it's Powered by MNP_a and NovelPlayer Components Ver.1.10
Didn't have much luck googling those though...

Next thing I'm keen on trying is this:

When all else fails, guess no choice but to result to a VM running either Windows XP or a Linux Distribution with wine preinstalled.
No guarantees on the second but it's worth a shot. Game's released on 2004 btw.

Okay so after two months of forgetting to do this due to having a huge ton of stuff in my plate, I was finally able to test running this in a Windows XP VM and unfortunately, it's still encountering the same error.

At least, that confirms that the possibility of incompatibility causing the error to be not the case at all.
Now the final possibility here is that it's failing to load the scenario because certain symbols are broken due to the fact that the OS region is not set to Japan.
I am reminded of that certain game I played in the past that was really locked down to a fault that it simply refuses to run until you set locale to Japanese and Region to Japan.

Doing that however, makes your entire OS be displayed in Japanese and that's extremely tedious for those who cannot read Japanese or those who have no previous experience or simply those who are not familiar enough with the Windows OS that they are unable to navigate the OS without the ability to read.

In any case, I'm still pretty busy so I'll most likely pick this up again for my final experimentation by July and submit my findings here.

^Confirmed my hypothesis above. Was able to make it work smoothly with no hitches whatsoever on a Windows 7 whose region is set to Japan.

For Windows 7, it's as easy as installing these inside the VM:
