Why do people hate school days so much?

I FUCKING LOVED IT. KEPT ME AT THE EDGE OF MY SEAT WHOLE WAY THROUGH!
MADE ME CARE FOR THE CHARACTERS. STORY WAS UNIQUE. IT ABSORBED ME INTO IT.
But this guy, oh noes he doesn't appreciate this master piece and even says its the worst anime.

Makoto was the fuel to everything though. He made things interesting to watch.

Shinji, didn't make it interesting, it was the angels, also Asuka, Rei, and forgot Shinji's caretaker.

Obviously he was a wimp, it's like how most harem dudes can't make up his mind. Or try to find out how to get em all, which is ever so present in VN's Me I made it work out on school days, barely but got 'em both.

But I'm talking about all new character in an all new game, but school days should of had more bad endings with Sekei going insane, especially after she had lost all respect for herself and settling. Sekei should have been yandere more. =/ Instead went the route of pitying her.

I liked the VN more than the anime, but I still thought the anime was good. Though I agree, Makoto was a tad annoying at times. The choices he made just never seemed....realistic. They weren`t in tune with his character in my opinion, and seemed to me as a quick way to advance the plot. Loved everyone else though. (Sekai`s in my top anime characters list.)

But Sekei was probably pissed, and one should watch his balls, considering he got her pregnant. But was she insane... Hm.. Considering there was nothing really like Kotohona, Sekei didn't sneak into his room didn't stand outside his window and watch and listen. But there was more to Kotohona considering she was raped and bullied quite a bit. But I do want to think she was yandere, I just can't decide.

personally, I didn't like it. Character flaws rooting from not much practicality and thought. I just plainly don't like anime/games where the plot is centered on a completely avoidable scenario.

What I liked in school days it wasn't the story, the craziness the morbid endings, considering there are so many of the same characters in anime, you have the tsundere, you have the childhood friend, you have the klutz, and it's so boring.

if you wanted the morbidity, I'd go with Higurashi or Shiki. yeah. School days is indeed boring. the title is better used on a light-hearted comedy, but with the anime/game more people have negative feelings associated with 'school days' aside from the well school.

personally, I didn't like it. Character flaws rooting from not much practicality and thought. I just plainly don't like anime/games where the plot is centered on a completely avoidable scenario.

That was one of the things I didn`t like about the game. Even with choices present you couldn`t stay with one girl the entire time. The same basic story could`ve been told with a much better lead up.

As you mentioned, it was a completely avoidable scenario, Makoto was just too lust filled to see that. There are multiple ways they could`ve gotten him into the same (self-induced) predicament while still making it seem as if he had no choice, or was forced in some way. Say he was dating one and was friends with the other and accidentally sends the wrong message to her. Then, not knowing how to tell her without devastating her, he inadvertently makes the situation worse by trying to make them both happy. (Not the best premise, but I like to back my opinions and that`s the best I can come up with off the top of my head.)

I also like the ability to get bad endings rather than just read. But there are so many cliche characters that I've never seen someone that I can hardly get into them albeit if I can get into them, it's mostly out of pity, it get's boring. I also don't like so much action as it gets boring and good guys win way too much, I did get into Corpse Party through playing the game.

I kept up Corpse Party because it had some of the best characters I`ve ever seen. It put them in the best situation you could possibly conceive in order to not only develop them to the extreme, but to ellicit the most human reactions possible, with their best and worst traits coming out in the process. I`d say the really bad bad endings are the best example of this. Each main character has at least one that reveals something about them that only that type of storytelling could give a decent excuse to show.

Spoiler: My favorites

From Yuka`s hidden romantic view of Satoshi which would probably never have seen the light of day had she not been about to die, to the fact that Yoshiki is actually completely helpless when he`s alone with no one to keep him going

I found them to be some of the most relatable and human characters I`ve ever seen in any media. Not to mention the amazing voice acting.

I was actually talking about also what I liked on school days. But as for corpse party I never really viewed all the endings but as for Yuka I did kinda have a sneaking suspicion about her, little sister don't act like she did in the beginning, I can understand when your in a school full of dead. Also when she went crazy over her brother "Wah! Onii-chan doesn't like Yuka" and you know little sisters usually won't go that far. Albeit as it seems she was my favorite character. But Corpse Party was a memorable experience.

It was. And I had my suspicions about Yuka too. She was a just a tad *too* happy when Satoshi would praise her.

I would love to find more morbid or actually anything that's unique. But it's hard, so many people like the same thing.
